Stayed here for two night's on a short golfing trip to the Scottish Borders. The location was perfect as was the price. The room's were exceptionally well presented and the breakfast menu had many options to choose from. The extremely quiet location was welcomed for a great night's sleep after two long day's. Would definately return and recommend. Many thanks to Rosemary for everything.
I must be honest and admit a friend booked me a room at the Ravelaw. I was taking their wedding in nearby Ladykirk. This stunning part of the Scottish Borders.
Having had a terribly delayed train journey from London I arrived at the Ravelaw in the dark having just rehearsed the wedding couple.
Round here dark is ‘dark’ it feels like the middle of nowhere... and that is part of the charm of this gorgeous and spacious farmhouse B&B.
The other charming features were: my host Rosemary, the beautiful room... with a view to just gaze at, the full Scottish breakfast, and the oatcakes!
I’m hoping to return - I was looked after well and enjoyed Rosemary’s cooking, friendliness and local tips.
Absolutely beautiful b & b. Peaceful rural setting with lovely views. We stayed 3 nights in September. Rosemary gave us a very warm welcome and provided us with lots of helpful information. Very friendly. Our room was immaculate, large and furnishings beautiful. The bathroom was large and well stocked. A lovely walled garden and easy parking. Breakfast was perfect, loved the fruit and omlette cooked to perfection. Also lots of places to explore nearby.
Ravelaw felt like a 'home from home!' A beautiful, relaxed and peaceful setting; lovely ensuite room with a view; and good breakfast. Rosemary made us very welcome and we would not hesitate in staying at Ravelaw again. Thank you!
Ravelaw really is a home from home, the hospitality is second to none. The room was clean and comfortable, with lots of thoughtful extra touches. The location is great in the countryside but within easy reach of lots of destinations and attractions. Every day we did local walks either on the coast of inland. The B&B is within easy reach of the big Northumbrian castles, Berwick and the lovely seaside towns and fishing harbours of the Northumbrian and south east Scottish coast. The breakfast was also wonderful, lots of choice and cooked to order with again lots of added extras including amazing home made jam which my husband loved so much Rosemary gave him some to take home. A special mention to the landlady Rosemary who is friendly, helpful, accomodating and went above and beyond to make our stay special. We can't recommend Ravelaw highly enough.
