We stayed at Valency during the snowy & icy Beast from the East earlier this month and were made warmly welcome by Denise and John. Valency apartment has everything you could wish for, a comfortable bed in a lovely room with patio doors to the garden, a cosy living room and well equipped kitchen / dining room. Boscastle Harbour is ruggedly beautiful & stunning location. We enjoyed a great coastal walk to the Boscastle farm shop where we tucked into a super breakfast.
We also ate at the Cobweb Inn, which we can recommend for hearty pub food and loads of genuine character. Despite the cold we managed to get to Tintagel and also ventured north to the Devon border with superb coastal views. Valency was a great place to enjoy ‘ off season’ and would offer even more things to do during the warmer months. Thanks Denise and John, we hope to come and stay again. Paul & Alison
This was our second visit to Valency in Boscastle and, as previously, Denise and John made as feel at home from the time we arrived with tea and biscuits on the patio to the time we left with cream teas in the conservatory.
Breakfast expertly cooked by John with fresh local produce including home made marmalade and jam.
Very comfy room with four poster bed and views down into Boscastle. Spotlessly clean throughout, Denise and John work very hard to maintain the high standards of their guest house.
Highly recommended and can't wait to go back.
Just stayed with friends for three nights in the beautiful studio.loads of space for two people.Beautifully decorated.Denise and John are super people who cannot do enough for you during your stay. The food is first class.Only 100yards to the centre of Boscastle.Great parking facilities in a beautiful garden. There are two other bedrooms and we would stay in either.Thankyou for a great stay David and Dawn.
Beautiful setting in the heart of Boscastle. Denise and John are the most diligent of hosts and nothing is too much trouble for them. My room was large and beautifully decorated with a spacious en-suite, including an excellent shower. Coffee, tea, water and biscuits were provided. The bed was extremely comfortable. My breakfast was excellent with extremely wide choice and well cooked by John.
Denise and John were awaiting our arrival, greeting us with a wonderful tea hour, during which we were introduced to interesting guests. Throughout our four days in Boscastle, the level of friendliness and good service maintained. In fact, at the end of our stay, when I had left a jacket, Denise contacted me and made sure the jacket was mailed (posted) to our house. We also got excellent advice regarding tourist destinations, including the loan of valuable maps, and, despite our initial reluctance to eat a large breakfast, we were served wonderful meals to start us off each day.
Our room, up one level from the main floor, was well appointed, with all necessities taken care of. The B&B itself is centrally located, virtually in the town center, and within short walking distance of the town's sites and restaurants, of which we enjoyed three. Boscastle is a good base for visiting the northern Cornwall coast, and it is a pleasant little village in its own.
