Awful. Absolutely shocking. Jaw dropping in the worst way possible. I have no words to describe the pure nastiness of this ‘hostel’.
Our room had ONE piece of furniture, the BED. (Unless you count the funky smell as an object, where it was so potent it may as well have taken form) Apparently something as basic as even a BIN was too much of a splurge for this seemingly drugged up establishment.
My companion and I joked about how we would hold all our possessions to avoid them touching any surfaces, yet this was legitimately a precaution I chose to take. Too many mysteriously sticky surfaces!!
The sign (A.K.A a piece of A4 paper with the comedic font reading ‘Hostel’) looked more suited to a crack house than any other, and I’m still not entirely sure that’s not where I was.
With this being said - it was exceptionally cheap, I might suggest the owners should have paid ME just to stay there.
It’s safe to say next time I’m in need of accomodation in this area, I’ll just sleep on the streets - much more hygienic!! Unreal
Entrance through a back door where people/staff are smoking all kinds tryed charging us another £26 after we had booked and payed online about a week in advance, very small basic room (nothing but a bed) very dusty with insects around no information given on check in, shared bathrooms were disgusting extremely unlikely that we will be staying here again wish we had gone for a slightly more expensive hotel.
My experience here it was lovely, cheap bed and nice staff. The bar it's also very nice. It's what you get when you're sharing room with other people.I hope be back soon, i enjoyed my stay.
Stayed here for 1 night with my friend so I could catch a flight early the next morning. Really, the only convenient and good thing about this hostel is the fact that it is close to the airport. We arrived through a back door, which was very strange and were trying to check-in when we were told the room we had booked in advance (we had booked 2 beds) had been already taken. Thankfully, they found another room for us.
Had dinner at the pub below and really, the food is not that good, except for the chips.
Went up to our room and it smelt awful. The toilet floors were wet and we were told that recently someone had spread faeces all over one of the toilets (that toilet was out of order). The shower floor had clumps of hair all over it. There was barely any toilet paper to use. The place needs some air freshener. My friend had to spray deodorant in our room so it would actually smell decent.
As there is a pub below, sleeping was difficult. Heard someone at about 1am throw up in the toilet next door and cheers and shouts through out the night.
The staff were quite friendly which is also another good thing but obviously not very experienced with running a hostel.
The wifi is very very slow. Sometimes it won't connect.
My friend and I were glad to be out of there at 5am the next day. Will not be coming back or recommending.
I stayed here for 4 nights while working in the area, the room was spacious and each bed had electric sockets and individual lights, the bed was comfy and long term room mates were nice and polite and very respectful:) I was able to sleep peacefully and the showers were spacious and good hot water:) the staff were great and friendly, big thanks to Johanna who helped me with a minor card issue ,very professional and friendly:)
I have no problem staying here in the future!!
PS: the bar associated with the hostel (White Bear) is great for watching the footie and does very good and reasonably priced food:)
