We found this an ideal place to stay whilst touring Cotswolds. A lovely welcome from the owner. Yes, decor was a little tired, but very clean. Plenty of storage space in bedroom and beds very comfortable. See separate restaurant review.
Attended a wedding at the nearby Warwick House - hotel is within walking distance (20 mins or so) and we got a small, but, tidy double bedroom located in a little courtyard to the rear of the restaurant.
Was basic, but, clean and really good value at £70 for both of us. Breakfast included and can have no complaints for the price.
Definitely recommend to anyone attending a wedding at Warwick House as other hotels need a taxi to get there and a more expensive.
Stayed one night only while visiting friends so can't comment on the restaurant or long term accommodation but the one night was pleasant enough. Room was big ( jasmine room I think it was called) - a little dated but all these country hotels tend to be. That said it was quiet and full English next day was plentiful;).
In summary great for short stays. Not a holiday hotel. (Food is good though by all accounts.)
We had a family room which had been built on top of the build so had all out cases, child in tow up 3 flights of stairs. Reception area nice otherwise the place needs a refurb.
Curtain shower was not good, tap wouldn't turn off, to get water on the kettle it was mission impossible it was cold throughout the night as the build had no insulation. Disappointing
Overall, not a bad place. The lady who we checked in with was absolutely wonderful and very helpful, although didn’t make us aware of check out time.
We were rudely alerted at 20 past 10 to a unpleasant women saying check out was at 10 and that we had 5 minutes to leave before escorted off the premises, well I had barely pulled the sleep from my eyes!
The room at night was absolutely freezing cold I was scared for my life and the pillow was as thick as a car reg. if wasn’t for the hollow thin walls I may have gotten over an hours sleep but the whooping cough from the heavily chest infected neighbour managed to keep up up just about all of the night
