SHUT IT DOWN!!!!!! This place needs to be demolished. I am not trying to be funny. There is now way this location can pass a health inspection. The A/C was full of mold, the lament flooring was curling at the ends, mucus and what appeared to be blood was on the wall next to the bed, mold on the ceiling in bathroom, the comforters had multiple stains and cigarette burns, oh and to top it off, a BULLET hole going through the door from the inside out! So many roaches. The picture of the pool is not at all accurate. It was a quarter low and thick green water. We travel with 2 dogs and had been driving from Canada. Had to sleep. If I saw what I saw in the daylight the night before, we would have slept on the side of the road in our car. In the morning you could see why this location belongs in the red light district. Cars sitting in the parking lot, not even in a space, just in the parking lot picking up the different woman coming out of the rooms. Obvious drug addicts lingering around. You can't make this stuff up. Unless you are low class and have nothing positive left to contribute to society, you have zero reason to be there. I only wish I had a post like this to read before I stayed!
I was traveling from NYC to Jacksonville with my trusty gal-pal Sophie. She's a fantastic traveler and when she's with me, it's Motel 6. I didn't' know how far I'd get on I-95 and didn't have a reservation, which didn't bother me one bit. I simply looked for Motel 6. As long as your dog is well behaved, you can always check into a Motel 6.
The motel is fairly large. It has a pool which was closed for the season. I traveled at the very end of March. The outside and the front desk were well kept.
My room was clean, though it could've used refurbishing. Still, it wasn't bad at all. The bed was comfortable (bedding clean and fresh), the refrigerator worked just fine, so did the a/c. The bathroom was also well scrubbed. However, it had at one time had a leak that had been repaired and it showed. This was aesthetic and didn't bother me at all. I was staying one night with a pet and accommodations of any kind with a pet are hard to come by. I gave it "3" because of the bathroom leak, but if I could've I would've given it a 3 1/2.
The gal at the desk when I checked in was super nice. The fellow at the desk in the morning was as well, and chatted with me when I came back for a second cup of coffee.
Where do I begin???
Other hotels were either booked up or way too expensive for us so we had to settle for this one.
The rate was cheap which should've been a tip off.
The beds were dirty. the bed skirts had dirty stains on them, same with the top covers.
The sheets were clean looking anyway. Luckily we brought our own blankets.
The floors were dirty our feet got black and dirty from walking on them, the room smelled like stale smoke even though it was a "non-smoking" room.
The one bed was pushed up against the wall, which was DIRTY. Streaks of brown or something. Needless to say, no one slept against that wall either night we were there.
The bathroom shower was made for a 5ft tall person, it was old and musty smelling.
When we came back in the evening, they hadn't cleaned our room at all, we had to go to the front desk and get our own clean towels and return the other ones.
We asked for clean sheets and no one ever addressed it.
We were on the first floor facing the "pool" and someone had all their laundry strewn about the pool railing in the morning.
Who needs 15 white tank tops?
The room served its purpose. We slept, managed to shower and got outta there!
I will definitely plan ahead next time.
Scary location too.
I arrive at Motel 6 at 0230 am on the 28 July 2014, coming from the RDU airport. I ask the lady do you have my reservation for this morning. She said you don’t have a reservation and we were sold out. I told her I paid for the room on line for this Motel 6. She said I am sorry, but you don’t have a reservation and were sold out. So I decided to go to another Hotel for that morning. Got up at 0900 am on the 28 July 2014 and went to Motel 6. I asked another lady that’s working about my reservation and she said YES I got it. So I asked her where, you sold out last night? And she said NO we had rooms open. So I told her, what happen this morning at 0230 with the late shift lady. So that lady gives me a free night and got me a room. That lady that was working late shift was very lazy and shouldn’t be working there.
The other thing is that the house keeper is lazy too. I told her to come back in 5 min’s and she said just put your trash and towels outside your door. She brought back the towels and put them on the bed and not in the bathroom. One of the towel was not good and the shower’s need cleaning. Oh!! Check out the green pool. Check out the pic’s. However, everything is out of order in the Motel grounds (Laundry room , the Pool and no Ice.
Don't stay here. View from our room(in June) was pool that looked like a clogged toilet. Disgusting! Area is a little shady and doesn't feel very safe. Room was fairly clean. Cheap room but you can definitely do better.
