The desk clerk not very helpful upon checking in. I called a few days before arrival to ask for an end room on 1st floor as I was traveling with a pet. When I arrived she told me "I have to give you what I have"; when I asked about good places to eat, she said "haven't had a bad meal yet anywhere - just google it". The room greatly needed CLEANING and UPDATED. Chair and ottoman badly stained, carpet was fraying in corners and needed a thorough vacuuming. The entry door didn't seem to close properly. The end door that I requested to be by didn't work! When I checked out I asked for my statement and on the back was printed someone else's address! I will not be back unless I see these rooms are updated. Poor experience.
Upon a late night check in at this hotel the front desk clerk was positive and energetic. That was the best part of our stay. Once we entered the room we found it to be dirty and unwelcoming. There were stains on the ottoman, and the material on the chair was frayed and dirty as well. There was also a lot of hair below the headboard when we pulled back the bed-cover. There was a gum wrapper on the floor in the sitting area and the bathroom door would not remain shut when you were in the bathroom - lack of privacy. Overall we were disappointed with this hotel and it has us wondering if we made a mistake in booking other Best Western Hotels for an upcoming trip in November.
Where to start? First issued room smelled horribly of smoke in a no smoking room and floor, requested another room. Second issued room smelled damp and musty, requested another room. Third issued room smelled normal, but, had no wash cloths, a tape repaired hair dryer, no tv controller, a noisy ac unit and the sink had a hair in it. In addition due to covid the pool, fitness room and breakfast service was closed.
On a positive note the bed was comfortable, the mini fridge worked and after getting a tv remote was able to use it. The front desk person said he would try to adjust our bill due to our experience, but, did NOT!!
I would not recommend this hotel while staying in the area, period...
Room 322 had bedbugs. My husband was bitten within 5 minutes of laying on the bed! We looked under the mattress and saw the bed bug droppings along the edge of the bedskirt. We were given a onither room which we sewrched diligently for signs of bedbugs and didnt see. but so far have not been able to contact the manager
We booked the hotel from a list our company provided. It has a nice comfortable bed and the room is spacious with a sofa to relax on and a good size TV. The rooms are clean and smells fresh, the bathroom is old but functional with good pressure in the shower.
Breakfast was adequate and the coffee nice. You can make tea, coffee or hot chocolate through the day.
The are helpful and smiley. The building is old and could do with some updating. Overall it is a good place to stay, very close to I-77 between Charlotte and Mooresville.
