My husband and I spent a couple of nights here. We would have spent three, but unfortunately there was no room at the Inn. There are dogs, cats, a moonlit river, and quiet places to read. You’re in a small, walkable town. You are not in the country. The highway that another traveler mentioned was in no way a detractor to us. It is the unbusiest busy highway that I have ever seen. The sounds of the river, for the most part, drown out any sound from the traffic. We found the place and the town to be very charming.
Decent place right on the river. My room was well accommodated and was greeted warmly. It was wonderful to sleep with a river.
However some of the reviews and other materials are misleading as there’s a busy freeway about a quarter-mile down stream so you can hear traffic early in the morning and it shuts down about 11 at night.
Perhaps I over thought it and assumed it was much far off the beaten path given its description and video.
When I go back? We shall see how the rest of the trip goes. Perhaps not
DO NOT BOOK this place and expect them to keep your reservation. You may end up in a room without a view, next to their parking lot. We drove 4 hours into town to celebrate my birthday and had spoke with the owner about their upstairs, river-front room. We paid the deposit and were really looking forward to our stay. Upon arriving, we discovered the Inn owners had given our room away to "regulars". They claimed tohave called us, but left no voicemail, email, etc. They told us they could offer us a room without a view....next to the parking lot. The owners claimed to have given us a discount when we booked (something we never asked for) and that was their justification for adjusting our reservation. To top it all off, we spent an hour searching for a new place to stay....there was nothing available to rent in town. I left the place in tears. As a vacation rental property owner, I would never treat a renter this way. I'm so disappointed. DO NOT BOOK!
On vacation, we stumbled onto the Dillsboro Inn many years ago on our way from Kentucky to the East Coast That night we sat around the Inn camp fire talking to other guests overlooking a river. We didn't want to leave the next morning. And we have been coming back since. TJ and Terry Walker offer a unique getaway experience framed by the Blue Ridge Mountains. Each room we've stayed in had extremely comfortable beds with outside sitting areas. After a day in the mountains, the city of Dillsboro, or Asheville, we always look forward to the nightly fire by the river and guided meditation by TJ on some stays. We are a well traveled family and rarely return to the same place for vacation, but the Dillsboro Inn will always be on our list of vacation destinations. The Aikens
We recently stayed at this beautiful inn for our honeymoon! The room was so cozy and warm. We loved the beautiful view of the river. Staff treated us like family. Peaceful and relaxing. Perfect getaway!
