Date of stay: August 2018Trip type: Traveled with family
We spent 2 nights in this nice hotel. The hotel has only 6 rooms and is right above the initial part of the main pedestrian street of Santorini, close to restaurants and shops. It has a small communal pool (if there were intrusive neighbors there could be some problem of cohabitation), but every room (at least I think) has its own terrace and a private hot tub. It is part of a larger property (below), Santorini Secret Suites. It may not be convenient that the hotel itself does not have a reception; you must reach the reception of the suites, which is located a few dozen steps lower than the main road. Even for breakfast you have to reach the terrace bar of the suites, going up the stairs first downhill and then uphill, but we preferred to bring us breakfast in the room, on the private terrace (the service is free and efficient, just remember to give the order and the timetable the day before). The entrance to the hotel is not guarded and is separated from the pedestrian (very busy) only by two cords that must be removed and returned by the guests, with no entry door or padlocks. This can give a sense of insecurity, but I do not think there are many villains in Santorini. People passing through can just catch a glimpse of the guests in the pool, with a certain amazement and I think sometimes a bit of envy. The hotel staff is very kind and efficient. Two or three days are in my opinion enough to breathe the air of Santorini, take a half-day boat trip (follow the advice from the reception, have been valid) and relax in the hot tub with a glass of Prosecco watching the sunset ( the only room from which you can directly observe the sunset is 62. The sun does not set forward on the caldara, but behind you on the roofs).
Room Tip: room 62, the only one with a hot tub where you can see the sunset
