There’s two things about Taos: Skiing and Art. My family loves skiing but I’m an art and history buff. Hotel is full of art and history. Breakfast is Southwestern bc the hotel follows its history and there are loads of restaurants in the area if you prefer iHop breakfasts. Rooms! OMG ... not one room is the same as another and if you stay in chain hotels, they’re all the same. Hospitality and concern for your comfort is beyond imaginable. Please stay at the La Dona Luz. Paco is the owner/manager and he’s in one of my photos. Tell him Ruthann sent you! ❤️❤️
I stayed here with my husband 34 years ago right after we got married. We decided to relive our honeymoon on a short trip. We isolated during our trip and stayed only at the inn. The owner was welcoming and warm. He was very friendly and we felt quite comfortable. I thoroughly enjoyed the specially breakfast, the outdoor patio and the beautifully and personally decorated room (ours was the one that faced the patio). It was full of history and charm. I would recommend this hidden charm. It doesn't look like much from the outside, so come inside to see its beauty.
Love love love this B&B. The family that runs it is so friendly and helpful. The place is clean, tidy, and decorated with a ton of New Mexico charm. The beds are comfortable and the suite we stayed in (we call it the Santa Maria) was roomy even with 2 queen beds. It's right in the middle of town so you can walk everywhere.
Everything about our stay was next level amazing! From our easy arrival and key handoff, to getting settled in the los angelitos room, complete with a cozy bathtub + bed! The ladies that made breakfast in the morning were so sweet, and we had a lovely time reading underneath the shady outdoor patio. We were lucky enough to get a tour of some of the open rooms and were very impressed with the exquisite collection, curation, and detail of each room. Paco, the owner, is super friendly and hospitable and has a tasteful eye for decor and a heart of gold. I will be staying here on our next trip to Taos! 10/10 would recommend!
Charming B & B!
The artwork collection is diverse and extensive. Location is excellent! Breakfast was delicious and beautifully presented.
The first morning we had huevos rancheros and the second day was Belgian waffles. Awesome!
Hubby and I stayed in the Rainbow room which has a second story loft. We never used the rooftop hot-tub as we visited Ojo Caliente Hot-Springs and had plenty of soaking. The views from the roof were incredible featuring luminaries near and far.
Our only complaint is that the mattress on the bed needs desperately to be replaced.
We both woke up on our second and final
morning feeling soar and out of whack.
This is not what one wants or expects staying at a B & B of this caliber.
This was our first visit to Taos and certainly not our last! We’d stay here again if they upgrade the mattress.
