We checked in at almost 5pm and it took a little longer than expected. We were even given the house rules, which included a non smoking clause and a Php 1,000 for violations. When we got to our rooms, both smelled so bad from cigarettes! So bad that we couldn't stand it - we had stomach ache, head ache and chest pain from being in our room for 10 mins. We weren't even asked in check in if we preferred a smoking room which we all hated. We went to the front desk and Fatima wont give us a non smoking room. After several minutes of reasoning out, she said that there was a room in the non smoking floor but only 1. We couldn't believe it because the bell hop said they weren't fully booked. So they took us to their 1 bedroom studio. The 2 rooms we checked smelled decent, so we said we'll take the rooms. But we were asked to pay the difference of Php 5,000+ each room. Ridiculous. Fatima said the manager is in a meeting and will be around at 8pm. It was almost 630pm and we were tired and hungry. my friend left her number for the manager to call as we really wanted to freshen up and rest a bit. Fatima was hesitant to give us the rooms but our bags were already there. So finally, I asked Fatima to call her manager coz this was entirely her fault.
1. Not informing us that she will give us a smoking room
2. Not informing us upon booking a few days before "that there are no non smoking rooms available"
3. Giving us the illusion that the hotel was strict with the no smoking policy
4. She's already made us wait for more than an hour just to check in
5. If she can't handle the issue, the manager should be called and not let guests wait further
While stating these facts, I told her she can't have a No Smoking sign at the reception and give us a smelly room.
Fatima then made a face. I asked her if there was a problem. She said she was just thinking. And in less than a minute, she said it was all okay and we won't be charged for our clean and not stinky rooms. Thanks Fatima. It didn't have to take long.
So as a trade off, there was still poop in our toilet! Gross! Thanks housekeeping!
Also, so much lies in their website. There's no gym and movie by the pool. Certainly no band during weekends.
Our room was okay, but the other room's ac didn't work too well. Their room was very hot.
At one point, we shared the elevator with a few other guests who were pissed off at the smoking issue too - and the elevator opened to a floor where 3 guests were smoking right there in their floor's elevator lobby. Good thing they didn't board otherwise we really would have stayed elsewhere. Never again Prime Asia.

We stay here 3 nights and we love it. The service is very good, the food incredible, and the pool amazing. We enjoy the breakfast every morning and dinner every night. Only the surroundings are shabby and a little creepy.

From the moment we arrived after our horrific experience in Manila The hotel was really nice. Friendly staff and most importantly all round clean.

The pool on the top deck was fantastic and great value for money.

Room service was super quick and having morning coffee and no not instant powder coffee was a fantastic welcome.

(+) - love the place, the room is spacious, bed is comfy, big bathroom, loved the big screen in the pool area, far from the night life so its quiet and peaceful

(-) - towels needs to be replaced, location maybe because so many roads were closed due to 2 events,

On the surface Prime Asia looked like it was going to be a great hotel, but there were so many small disappointments with this hotel that really ruined it for me.

The Hotel:
Nicely presented hotel set a fair way back from the main road so traffic noise is minimal. About a 10min walk to walking street and the shopping centre. There is a trike station located right next to the hotel, so if you are lazy like me, you can catch a trike to the shops etc (I usually pay 100 pesos per ride locally. 200 pesos to go to further, etc Marquee mall).

The Room:
Nice size room for this price range. Well presented, with comfy bed. Bar fridge was small and useless. Power in room only works with card, so fridge turns off as soon as you leave anyway. Most power points are multi regional, so you don't need an adapter.

Bathroom:
Good size. Shower gave good pressure but getting hot water was hit and miss. Some days it was scolding hot and others couldn't even get lukewarm. The toilet was also a problem as it would quite often regurgitate the previously flushed waste back in to the bowl, so need to flush multiple times.

TV and WiFi:
32" flat screen TV. Limited TV channels, but not too bad. Easily accessible USB port which plays most video/audio formats including MKV (not x265). Wi-Fi speed varied depending what floor you were on. 4th floor wi-fi sucks. 3rd floor not too bad. Roof good.

Restaurant and Pool:
Nice pool area on top of the hotel with good view of Angeles. Staff were inattentive, sometimes taking 10 mins to bring you a menu after you sat down, even though there is no one else up there. Food is relatively cheap, but of average quality compared to elsewhere in Angeles. No one there knows how to make cocktails (bound to be missing several key ingredients like coke from a Long Island, or Rum from a Pina Colada etc). Basic spirits are almost twice as expensive as everywhere else in Angeles e.g. 300 pesos for a Johnny Walker Red (you can go to the 7/11 and get a 700ml bottle for 550 pesos).

Staff and Amenities:
Compared to everywhere else I have stayed in Angeles, most of the staff (there were a couple of good ones) were inattentive and unhelpful. They try and charge you ridiculous amounts for any amenities you use here such as the Hotel transport and laundry services. To get laundry done in Angeles, the price is approx 50 pesos per kilo. The hotel charged us 2000 pesos for a 5kg load, which is almost 10 times more!!! (So just walk 2min down the street and drop the laundry off yourself).

Overall Impression:
Stay at a different hotel as this place isn't worth the price. I've stayed in cheaper hotels (Dervera, La Terrasita, Appolonia) which were all better than this place for service and friendliness. The only advantage Prime Asia has is that its nicer looking than these other hotels. If you want something on par with Prime Asia, have a look at Queens Hotel or Central Park. Haven't stayed in these rooms, but the restaurant RBI at Queens was tops and it too had a really nice pool area and the views and pool area at Central Park Tower are awesome.
