We have been road tripping for days and did not book a place to stay over in Inhambane. I gave the Lodge a call last minute and they arranged a room for us in less than 10 min. We got greeted by the friendly staff and they helped us carry all our heavy equipment to the villa. Giving us time to take in those views WOW!
The room had an amazing view as well. We woke up to the sun kissing the ocean and good coffee they sneakily left on our deck. The outside shower was my favourite.
Thanks for making our stay one to remember. The food, the impeccable service and the packed brekkies... And our little whale shark ;)
Thanks Liz and team!!

The first impression is the panoramic view of the beach and ocean – absolutely spectacular. Every room and the main lodge have a 180 degree view of the ocean. Beautiful beach to stroll along or, if you’re more adventurous, you can walk to Tofo or to the Praia de Barra beach for lunch and you can arrange a transfer by prior arrangement with management back to the lodge. Our room was bright, airy and clean. Breakfast and dinner are included and the food was delicious. We were also able to arrange lunch on the days that we just stayed at the lodge and relaxed around the pool. The staff and management were great and nothing was too much trouble for them whether it was delivering our fresh morning coffee to the room or ensuring that we had a constant supply of refreshments around the pool on the days that we stayed at the lodge. Thank you Liz, Sam, and all of the staff for looking after us so well.

There are also lots of activities to participate in locally and whilst we concentrated on scuba diving there were ocean safaris, snorkeling trips, dhow excursions, quad biking, horse riding and other activities on offer via local tour operators.

You need a 4x4 vehicle to access the last few kilometres of sand road to the lodge however whilst we were there other guests either flew in to Inhambane and the lodge arranged transfers to and from the airport or some drove up in their non-4x4 vehicles and the lodge arranged secure parking relatively nearby and transferred the guests to and from there.

We also particularly appreciated the attention to the ecological aspect of the lodge and the consideration to the local environment.

We are a couple of 60+ and traveling quite a lot around the globe and visiting mainly natural and historical places . Mostly we enjoy lovely boutique places as well small personal lodges. We are glad to share our experiences in a brief form below (including photos) with YOU:
+ . Adventurous drive through sandy dunes, we were very lucky that our guest holder Liz waited for us to lead through the last 4 miles, after she put our tires "flat" to 1.8bar.
. After arriving: What a view! Each of the 5 spacious wooden bungalows gives direct ocean view with a 180° panorama
. Only a few steps separate these lovely bungalows from the vast proper, sandy beach - you alone, hardly somebody else to spot
. Fully ecological - but with most of the comfort of the 21st century - we enjoy our stay mostly out on the large wooden terrace on a sofa or on a long-chair, for relaxing in our nice sleeping room (equipped with a shower cabin, a wash basin and a toilet)
. There is a beautiful, clean fresh water swimming-pool behind the very comfortable lounge, bar and dining room.
. The owner Liz & Lisa are extremely friendly und helpful: they read every wish from your eyes: nothing is impossible.
. Details make life here to "Palace on Earth": every morning fresh coffee is prepared outside your lodge veranda; breakfast with freshly made juice, mango & papaya slices; for dinner you have they joice of seafood, meat or vegetarian.
. Simon (the cook) lets get every dinner to a real outstanding surprise and all the staff is outstanding friendly

>>> Therefore I can highly recommend this place - if you miss it, you really missed a perfect relaxing holiday in a special surrounding!

! ! Access only with 4 WD (advisable reduce air pressure in the tires to 1.8 bar!)
- ! In the room no TV, no AC, no fridge, no hairdrier - but electricity working the whole day
- ! Mostly no internet access and no WiFi in the area

Every morning coffee was brought to our room and we sipped and watched whales breech and frolic. It was absolutely surreal. The staff was amazing, and the beach was spectacular. I loved walking in either direction to cafes, or small towns. The area was safe, the lodge friendly and the ambience magical. I loved the relaxed nature of the staff and the mindful service we were offered. Liz was lovely and the staff as a whole approachable, kind and helpful!

Every morning started with the sun showing up from beneath the sea's horizon, gently lighting up the day and highlighting the sprays of the whale's breaths revealing their secret spots in the water.. It was just magical!! I would watch this all so clearly from my room's deck with a flask and fresh coffee which woukd be personally delivered. Following this would be the most delicious fresh fruits and cooked breakfast on the breakfast deck which was as lovely open space with yet another breathtaking view!!
The staff were always friendly and following up on my preferences and helping to make my daily trips smooth and logistically easy- From walking the secluded and safe beaches to swimming in the clear blue seas and kayaking in the mangroves I was able to take in my amazing holiday which just absolutely made me feel like I was in a different world!!
The beauty of the lodge and its well kept surroundings, the homely feeling of the smiling staff and the divine food and relaxation makes this what it is said to be..."barefoot luxury"!!
