First time in Petoskey, the Terrace in and 1911 Restaurant was the highlight of our 1-day, 1-night stay there en route to Mackinac Island. The overall quaintness of the old-fashioned lobby and terrace with a view of the park below and the friendliness of the other visitors and staff made for a perfect experience. The room was also quaint and beautiful with a mattress so high they provide a step stool, and a view of quiet colorful neighborhood below. Dinner, drinks and breakfast food was all delicious and served with genuine care and smiles. A walk from the hotel to the beach through the park and neighborhood leaves a lasting impression of a warm, inviting, and well-cared-for community that the inn has the good fortune to be nestled in.
If you're looking to please the special lady in your life with a romantic quaint, this is the place for you. I took my wife to spend the night here and relax, she was absolutely in awe. The romantic room was perfect for us, the jetted the tub was a delightful touch. The hotel staff met all our needs with pleasure, such as plates, ice, champagne flutes, etc... The next morning's breakfast was hot and delicious.
The only complaint was that one of the curtain rods were bent and made it difficult to move the curtains.
This place is in a quaint area 1 mile away from downtown Petoskey. It is in a quiet area in a unique neighborhood. The staff is very welcoming and kind. Our room and bathroom were very clean. Loved the coziness and history of the place. This is a GREAT stay for a great place, I would stay again.
I love staying at The Terrace Inn and have done so many times, but what would it be like as Michigan opened up a little during the COVID-19 pandemic? I had no need for concern! Mo, Patty, Belinda, and the staff have made the entire Inn a safe haven from the coronavirus. I had a lovely room off the first-floor lobby area; it was fun to be so close to all the activities of the Inn. Due to the spaciousness of the lobby and porch, I could have friends over and still maintain the needed social distance; I felt similarly comfortable interacting with other guests, all of whom were wearing their masks and observing the recommended precautions. And the food! Wonderful as always, with my first Planked White Fish of the season!. It was a wonderful week-long, get-away which I recommend to all of you.
I stayed on 2nd floor. All was good. The shower was VERY small. Breakfast was good. I shided the cook as I told him it was better in 1971 because I worked there then in the kitchen. LOL. You do get noise from the upstairs room a little.
