I was told that timeshare owners have a specific section of the resort. I was located at the back looking at the parking lot.
I had 2 bedrooms, the rooms were small compared to other time share I had stayed at.
For a 2 bedroom the kitchen was not fully equipped, it did not have an oven, that was a surprise, just a microwave.
When I checked in it was too quick, I was not given any quick information about the resort. I have my credit card, got my room key and that was it. No information about WiFi or amenities of the resort.
For a place without an oven, not a lot of areas to eat nearby. You have to eat to nearby towns.
Our 2 bedroom was updated but the view was awful. They exchanged us after I complained about the view. The one bedroom was extremely uncomfortable and in desperate need of a update. We decided to check out 2 days early and booked Embassy Suites in Maine. The fireplace worked well though.
Booked through Choice Hotels, so was surprised when we arrived it was a timeshare resort. We had a "studio" so had a microwave, full size fridge, and a dishwasher. Was surprised having no housekeeping, so we had to ask the desk for a garbage bag, towels and extra bathroom items. We had to ask for extra coffee packs too. Didn't mind making my own bed, but was surprised booking it through a Hotel site we were not told there was no housekeeping. Our bed was comfortable, hated the pillows. Plenty of data ports around the room. We had an end unit, and had easy access to the beach area. Visiting in January they had an enclosed pool, but an outdoor hot tub. They had a fire pit going every night with smores available.
The off season was very quiet but beautiful. Nice fireplace and views of the ocean from both bedrooms and the living room. Rooms were well appointed and maintained. The mattress was not as comfortable as ours and they could use an upgrade in that but everything else was great.
Being at the Soundings was truly like being in a Hallmark Movie. We went during the off season and it was magical. The employees were courteous and welcoming. The accomodations were wonderful. We stayed in a Presidential suite and it had everything you needed including a spectacular view of the sunrise and sunset. The smell of the sea and sounds of the waves were great to sleep by. Since it is off season hubby and I were able to walk on the beach and just enjoy the beauty of it all. There were others also walking along the beach.
The bed was very comfortable and having 2 bathrooms was a plus. We would sit on the deck (yes it was cold - but we wore warm clothing) and drink our coffee and tea.
The town is seasonal so you have to drive to other towns to go to the stores but even that didn't bother us. We are already planning to return next fall.
Please note that studios do not have the full ocean view, but there are many areas to sit outside and and enjoy the beach.
