Accommodation in Bohol is quite pricey, especially those by the beach like Heenan Resorts. But I am glad I stayed here during my Bohol trip. Location wise, it is about a 20 to 25 minute walk away from the main beach area. The main beach area seems extremely noisy to stay at, especially Heenan Resorts, where it turns into a party resort by night. Scent of Green Papaya was away from all the noise and extremely quiet. At night did not feel comfortable though walking that dark path alone as a female. There is a tasty Korean restaurant and an organic cafe about a 10 minute walk from the hotel. I also booked my tours at the tour shop next to these restaurants, which I highly recommend! Room wise, I would not say it is brilliant. There were mold and dirt around. I wanted a king/queen bed, but they only had twin available. The breakfast was just okay only. Oh yes, the puppy is absolutely cute at the hotel. But I believe it is grown up now to a medium size dog now as I am writing this!

After driving through a bumpy road you enter the hotel space and it looks good. They have a guard, a good looking pool, smiling staff and a picturesque set of houses.
You get a complementary fruit juice while you check in..so far,so good.

Once you enter your room, everything changes. A dusty/moldy smell burst through your nose while you contemplate a very tired room. Furniture looks old and worn out. Nothing matches. Shower water is probably some form of poorly treated salt water. Cleaning is not very thorough.

Positive :
- pool is good and open until 10pm
- staff is very friendly and will try to help you
- shuttle to and from alona beach every 30m from 7am to 10pm. Always on time.
- spacious safe

Negative :
- furniture and it's poor preservation.
- breakfast is no big deal
- low value for money
- 4% charge for payments with visa/etc that's not mentioned when booking

Verdict : wouldn't come back.

Decent place , rooms are clean and basic no frill type. They don't provide tea / coffee making facilities in the room.
Shower was good and water was warm.
Place is quite and green. Although bit far from the beach but Shuttle service was every half an hour and was excellent.
Breakfast was basic and coffee was instant.
Lovely staff , always smiling and helpful.

We were traveling in a group of 5 friends and rented two rooms from this hotel. I lived in upstairs suite with two of my friends and the room was perfect for us. Large enough balcony to host all 5 of us and the bedrooms were very clean and pretty large. Beds great and quiet place to sleep. In our room the AC was located perfectly so you really can't have a flu even if you forget it a bit too cold. That's a huge plus from my point of view :)
Pool was clean and you could start sunbathing first thing in the morning because the sun is shining right from the morning till evening. Off course there are shade options also.
Breakfast was well organized and good.
Staff was very friendly.
Location was nice, about 7min walk to the beach and there is even a free shuttle service that leaves every 30min.

My partner and I went to Bohol for 5 nights with the intention of learning to dive whilst having a good time and boy did this hotel deliver!

Location:
Excellent - After a 5 minute walk you are on the main walkway to Alona beach with a whole array of restaurants if you’re not up to walking all the way to the beach… If, however, you are up to it you have another 10 minute walk or you can take advantage of the complimentary shuttle service which we did most nights after a long day of diving!

Surroundings:
Beautiful - Due to the location of the hotel you are not squashed in between countless other hotels and loud bars/restaurants which gives you the perfect opportunity to charge your batteries after a busy day and allows you to chill out by the pool if you so wish.

Services:
We had everything we needed and more! Beautiful clean swimming pool (which was cleaned every morning!!!), a great little bar just off reception which had a cracking happy hour (well 3 hours which I liked ;) ), a tour desk which were most accommodating to our requirements and can even arrange a driver for the day if you aren’t interested in the set packages and just want to see a few of the places available. They also organised all of our diving training and post certification dives which through a separate company (Equation) who I will also be highly recommending!
The hotel also has a security guard on site all through the night just in case you required any peace of mind.

Rooms:
Simple yet perfect - The hotel rooms are what you would expect in a western hotel. Our room had crisp white linen sheets, a nice powerful shower (with hot and cold settings which isn’t always the case in the Philippines), safety deposit box, nice big flatscreen TV (not that we even turned it on) and a fridge. The rooms were very clean and spacious with a huge kingsize bed. You can tell the air conditioning units are brand new (as is the hotel) as you’re room is chilled down within minutes after returning from the heat of the beach.

Breakfast:
Perfect start to the day! I opted for the american breakfast most days where the eggs were cooked to perfection and the bacon was very good (which is hard to find in the Philippines). You can also order a croissant which is freshly baked that morning however you have to book the night before as they are made to order… YOU MUST TRY THESE!!!

Staff:
The staff were so helpful and very friendly at all times, day or night. They made you feel welcome and cared for and were always happy to help or arrange something for you.

Shuttle Service:
This was a fantastic service which we used countless times when we were going out diving or going out on an evening. The drivers were happy to accommodate your needs whether you booked the night before or just went and asked at reception.
Personally I think this service was invaluable to the hotel.

In summary we loved Panglao, the dive sites and the hotel, so much so that we are already planning another trip next month - look forwarding to seeing you again :)
