We did a 1130pm check in with no issues. Greeted by a cheery front desk lady that got us checked in quick. It wasn't 5 mins after getting to our room, the front desk lady was at our door with extra blankets, pillow, sheets for the pull out bed.... had a king bed room w/pull out sofa bed. Clearly 2 adults and a teen child were not all sleeping in the same bed. I thought that was good service for her to take note of our room and know we would be needing the extra covers. I read in previous reviews that this hotel is newly built and it shows. Every time you encounter a staff no matter where you are in the hotel, they speak and smile at you. I can't say anything bad other than the pool is enclosed and I do believe it has poor ventilation cause the chlorine smell was so strong my eyes and nose burned the entire time in there (I did not get in the water, just sat by the pool). I even went outside for a few to get fresh air and while out there the eye burning and nose burning did not stop. Breakfast is included and was decent. Had to wait a few times or replenishing of certain items. small selection of fruits, muffins, cinnamon rolls, cereal, oatmeal, eggs, biscuits, at least 1 meat such as turkey sausage or bacon, juices, milk etc. Cracker barrel is right across the parking lot so is a gas station/convenient store. TV channel selection was plentiful. Hotel location is right off the highway, easy to find. A nice spacious lounge/breakfast/lobby area. The room did not have a regular coffee pot it was the k-cup kind with about 6 to 8 different k-cups to pick from and use. Also, iron, ironing board, microwave and mini fridge.

On Saturday, August 12, my family passed through Troy on our way to Branson, MO, where we own some vacation rentals. Although lately we’ve stayed at Drury Inns when possible, we do like Holiday Inn and decided Troy was a good place to stay because we were traveling with our small children, and it was passed their bedtime already. We checked in and got to our room at 9:15, and a little after 9:30, we realized that our bathroom sink was completely stopped up. I called down to the desk, and the desk clerk asked if we had pushed down on the knob in drain, and we had. She said that she would try to see if maintenance could come look at it, or we could move to a new room, but I told her the kids were already in bed, and our luggage was open, and we had brushed our teeth, etc. We preferred that someone came up to the room. She called back moments later to say that no one was available to service it that night. However, she told me to make sure I came down to the front desk before we left in the morning, and she told me to tell the manager at the desk. She also said that we would be compensated because they want all guests to have a good experience. She told me that she would leave a message for the management and that they would be expecting me.

The next morning, we were in the breakfast area, and a member of the breakfast crew overheard my son’s disappointment at them not having the cereal that he wanted. I really wish I could remember her name, because she was very friendly and helpful. She pulled the cereal from the cabinet and gave it to my son. They had the cereal after all, but they just didn’t have enough dispensers to house more than a certain number, so this particular cereal was not out for that day. I thanked her very much for her kindness, and we went to the pool.

When I saw her again before we left, she asked me if I’d like her to package up some cinnamon rolls for my kids before we left. I told her “no, thank you,” but I was still pleased with the offer. What a friendly lady! I made a point to read her name badge, and I thought for sure that I’d remember her name, but it escapes me nonetheless.

When we left, my husband and kids went out to grab the car, and I walked to the front desk. I asked for the manager, but he/she was busy, so I told the girl at the desk about the clogged sink. I reiterated about how badly it needed attention, and then she smiled, and I left. No mention of compensation.

This Hotel is brand new! Very clean, comfortable bed and pillows. Small pool, work out facility, guest laundry and work stations in lobby for to plug your devices in. Conference rooms available. Hotel is next to three restaurants within walking distance. This Hotel would be my first choice anytime I'm traveling in the area!

We went to visit grandkids so looked for a hotel with a pool. This was a wonderful surprise, so clean and fresh. It was off the freeway and very quiet. The staff was helpful and friendly. They were full of suggestions to make our stay enjoyable. We will be back.
