We stayed in the master suite and absolutely loved it. Ros gave a great home like feeling for our entire stay.
Her accent really added to the experience. Even though we were in the middle of CDA it felt like we were in small B&B in the UK.
The breakfast was very good tasting and I have no complaints. While she made us a very american style breakfast I found out later that I could request for an more British style breakfast.
One other cool thing to add was sine winter is a slow time for B&B. We have the entire place to our self it felt like. We swam in the indoor pool and outdoor hottub.
I would defiantly go again.
My wife and I just had the best experience of any vacation trip we have ever had. This Bed and breakfast is beautiful, and we enjoyed the pool, hot tub, and billiard table on multiple occasions. The breakfast... I have no words for the breakfast as no other bed and breakfast we have ever stayed has come close to the quality not to mention the quantity of the food. Each morning a unique breakfast was prepared at our desired time with three courses. and included fresh coffee, orange juice apple juice and I would assume other if so desired. but while the accommodations were amazing, and allowed us to relax, and explore Coeur d'Alene what made this bed and breakfast so special is the hostess Rosemond (Ros) Her gentle kind and sweet spirit graces everything in her home(including breakfast) and we feel so luck to have been able to sit, meet and share stories with Ros.. It is at times like this I wish I was a better writer as i just don't have the words to discuss how special this place is and how amazing Ros is. My wife and I talked all the way home about how this was our best anniversary trip ever. We had initially planned a trip to Jamaica for our 15th wedding anniversary. We are both so happy we chose Abbotswood in Coeur d Alene ID.
My husband and I enjoyed Ros' wonderful home and welcoming hospitality on a recent trip from Anacortes, Washington to Kaycee, Wyoming. The room was beautiful, spacious and we thoroughly enjoyed the gas fireplace and sitting area. We partook of many of the amenities: the hot tub, indoor pool and pool table. In the morning we had a late, leisurely, delicious breakfast--bacon and sausage, fried eggs, English muffins, homemade poppy seed muffins, Ros' special muesli, yogurt and a huge bowl of fresh fruit salad. All this was accompanied by tasty homemade jams and marmelade. As we had the good fortune to be the only guests that morning, we persuaded Ros to sit with us and visit. That was a special treat. What an amazing woman. I agree with a previous review to not judge a book by its cover. The outside is, in part, a work in progress but the inside and Ros are delightful.
Our stay at Abbotswood was MAGICAL! Way exceeding our expectations. First and foremost, it was due to our wonderful hostess, Ros, who made us feel at home, made the best breakfasts, and completely spoiled us! Amazing to sit in the hot tub outside at night while it was SNOWING! Pool was truly fun! We want to bring our family back and rent the whole house!!!! This is perfect for a romantic getaway, whether you are newlywed or married 31 years like us :) In addition to the pool, there's a great family room with a full-size pool table, big TV, and board games. Did I mention the INDOOR pool? Truly amazing!!! Thank you, Ros, for your hospitality. We love you!!!
My husband and I drove from Boise to Coeur d'Alene for a convention. We were very fortunate the resort was booked, because we discovered Abbotswood House and had a marvelous time! Ros catered to our every need. The room was spotless and the amenities (indoor pool, pool table, jetted tub) were great. Breakfast was amazing. We has apple pancakes, sausages, bacon, and homemade jams and custard. The house and host also have some wonderful secrets and hidden stories.
