Perfect location between Gulf and bay. 245 Plantation is large room on bay, close enough to hear water and only 3 min walk to sunset, which is visible at some locations on property. From screened porch (photo here),see bay and outlet to Gulf. Great view.
Pool is steps away and large pool complex and pool bar very comfortable. Marina steps away supplies free kayak and coffee and rents any water transport. Personnel friendly and helpful.
Tween is 1 mile fron Captiva town, Mucky Duck, Doc Ford Bar, and few shops.
10 min drive to Sanibel town with great Doc Ford Bar/Grill, and fine Thistle Inn.

Lovely location. Great rooms with a view. You’re not exactly on the beach, but it looks like it from our balcony. The rooms were clean and sanitized. The desk staff was friendly. A massive thank you to the staff who carried ALL our bags up to our second story room. We loved the coupon books and took advantage of a few of them. The private beach was clean and had great amenities. We took advantage of the cabanas. They were comfy and a great value at $15. The pools & hot tub were nice and had friendly staff. We enjoyed that they had a serenity pool for the adults and 2 hot tubs. Lots of chairs to relax in. Make sure to take advantage of the great bar drinks as well. The food at the Crow’s Net was great. Infact, I got the crab cake entree 2 nights in a row.

We loved our stay! And wishes we had stayed longer. Best of all, they don’t charge a resort fee!!!

Have stayed here a few times. Love the location. Servers at the tiki bar were very nice. Food was good. Ate at the Old Crow's Nest. We do not mind the price, but falls short to justify. Poor service. Not too busy. Waiter took forever to come to the table. Delivered food. Never came back to check in.. Brought check. Desserts were really awful. AC beeped in room every two hours. Front desk folks friendly, but not very responsive to our concerns. Said oh well. Large iguana by the pool Mentioned to staff person who did nothing. So mixed bag for the great location.

Thank you for sharing your feedback on your recent stay here at Tween Waters Island Resort and Spa. We are happy to hear you enjoyed your time over at our pool bar. Our bartenders/servers work hard to provide a wonderful experience for all guests. The kitchen staff at the pool bar also works day in and day out to provide the best food possible. We apologize that your experience at The Crow's Nest fell short of your expectations. We encourage those who are disappointed, whether it be with the service or the food itself, to speak to the food and beverage manager. I apologize if the issue with your air conditioning was not fixed to your satisfaction. As soon as you had reported it to the front desk, I personally had reported the issue to our maintenance team to be fixed immediately. Next time you stay, while we hope no room issues occur, if they do and are not handled to your satisfaction, I encourage you to stop by the front desk and we will do our best to move you into another room. I apologize again we fell short of your expectations, and hope that this does not discourage you from staying with us again. Sara Dowling Front Desk

Tweens has been our go to resort while vacationing at Sanibel/Captiva and we go once a year. This trip has changed it for us. Started with no parking by our building Which made it fun with 2 kids and luggage. Thank god for an employee in the golf cart that felt bad and saved us by helping. Our room was REALLY outdated. Old furniture, uncomfortable beds. Patio to small to even sit and enjoy. Maybe it was the building we were in but it was a bummer (Areca building). The beach across the street was perfection! Had the best day with the kids there, we rented chairs and umbrellas and the attendants were awesome. Just gorgeous. The pool was always our favorite spot at the resort but this time it was a disappointment. There seemed to be a huge wedding party and it felt like spring break. Not family oriented at all. We’re young (late 30’s) and it just wasn’t fun with our two kids there. We had a major misunderstanding regarding checkout. We were told that we could checkout at 2pm if we paid $50 for late check out. Only then on the morning of checkout I called the front desk to confirm and they said we couldn’t. She said she would have to ask her manager and then said no sorry they needed us out by 11am. I found it poor customer service and no communication between the staff. So to say the least, I don’t think we would be returning to Tweens anytime soon. Time to go back to South Seas Resort.

Dear KPaganBSN, Thank you for sharing your feedback with us. We are sorry to hear that your recent stay fell short of your expectations. Upon check in when you inquired to extend your stay, we let you know that this room wasn’t available to extend as it has been already booked by another guest. Unfortunately, late check out is not available when there’s an arrival. We always recommend that guests call the morning of to check on the availability. We apologize for any misunderstanding. During check in time, our guest personnel always offers to assist with parking and help with luggage. We regret that your stay was affected by other guests on our property. Tween Waters Resort is a family friendly resort and we also welcome destination weddings, groups and other private events. Thank you for staying at Tween Waters Island Resort & Spa Kristina W. We honeymooned in 1990 at South Seas Plantation, so it always had an edge over Tween Waters. We biked down to South Seas this time and when we came back to Tween Waters I just had to admit, Tween Waters is my new favorite. You are a couple of steps from EVERYTHING! Sunsets, kayaks, bikes, Spa, pool. The character of the place has just grabbed my heart. We were so impressed that even though Sea Grape is an older building the suite was decorated and had everything we needed! The only slight negative - for those who couldn't handle any noise while sleeping, our fan chain above our bed rattled a little bit. That's it.

We stayed in Heron Cottage... nice, new bathroom, it's handicapped access... the bed was a bit small for two grown ups.. So I slept on the very comfortable sofa bed in the living room.

I think that it will not be in 2018. We think that Jerry's Diner (which is in the supermarket) does a really great breakfast with good coffee in a comfortable setting. The ladies who serve there are delightful

WIFI was free. You could rent beach chairs at the beach for $20/day. You could rent a cabana at the Serenity pool (adults/older kids only) for $50/day. It has two chairs, two lounge chairs, a small table and curtains. Perfect for having a laptop out there because it provided shade and a plug-in.
