This is a very nice locally owned motel. The price however, was a little pricey for an above average motel. The owners & front desk staff are very friendly and professional. The check-in process was quick and easy. The room was spacious with microwave and fridge. Beds were comfy. Would have been nice to have a coffee maker in the room. Overall it was a good stay and would recommend it to others.
I was a little unsure of staying here at first but my husband had stayed here before and said the rooms were clean. I'm a couple months late on the review but wanted to give kudos to Missy for her excellent service. She is a sweetheart, hard worker and seems to never stop going! I was terribly sick with bronchitis and just wanted a good bed, hot shower and some rest. The beds were very comfortable. Showers are good and motel is clean. The room is actually rather good size. The only concern I had was when I left was leaving Missy to sanitize and kill the germs I had left behind. The rate is not bad at all and when we were down people were having a hard time finding rooms during the Orange Bowl. Check this place out. Its not a chain or new but its a good nights stay.
I originally had my doubts about this motel. But, it was close to a friend, so I figured I would give it a chance. I'm glad I did!
Check in was rather quick, and the front desk lady was friendly. I parked in front of my room, and went inside and was surprised by the sheer size of the place. For a motel, these rooms are spacious and comfy, with a great little table to sit at. The beds were average, but I slept well.
Visually, some upgrades could probably be made. The rooms like like they are stuck in the early 70's, and the bath towels feel like they're from the same era. Overall, though, if you find yourself in Haines City, I would highly recommend the State Motel
Within minutes of making my reservation, the office called to confirm the details and get my arrival time. This is an old-style "motor court" hotel, shaped like a square "U," where you can park right outside your door. Unfortunately, most rooms have a view of the back of the restaurant in the middle of the U. My room was large; dated but very clean and appeared freshly painted. The sheets seemed new. The air conditioner seemed like it could barely keep up on a cool April night.
It's a good budget option--the chain hotels 8 miles up the road charge double what you'd pay here.
Great clean place to stay. Very affordable and convenient to the pilot truck stop ( a short walk) . Although dated its beds are comfortable , a small fridge and microwave are in each room. There are also smoking and non smoking rooms. I would recommend an overnight stay there
