Got there later in the day, front desk staff was still very accommodating. They checked in via text to make sure we were getting in ok. Also gave great food recommendations. Walkable distance to the beach as well. The room was super cozy with a fireplace and great local art. Very beachy vibes. And it had a pool as well.
Veterans weekend 2019
The hotel is a 60’s redo”in progress “but what has been done is tasteful.Despite high prices along the beachfront, this hidden gem is better priced than many hotels in the area. It is good value.
The “ bad “: the bathroom shelf was broken off wall= Makeup/ Shave kits on floor.Sound travels:walls - ceiling not well insulated..but NO train noise.
Area very walkable in the Day, Walks in the dark subjects one to desperate looking types that live in cars(?)suggest:After dark use “Gig economy drivers.
The good : Free Parking:smallish lot is tight =large car parking very difficult BUT there is close and plentiful parking on the back”street(OrillaDelMar)
Room:Ultra clean.Bed and linen top notch.Xlnt towels.heated-“glistening”pool with nice sunset view-comfy seating area.
Staff friendly & helpful.
Dogs allowed. Children were quiet and well behaved.Fun decor everywhere.
Efficient layout of everything”..
Beach and ocean right across the street. Several good food options near .
The founder of Il Fornaio chain has a nice cafe next door.
The pros far outweigh the cons so we will return.
A really warm welcome given, plenty of local advice on hand. Communal tea, coffee & iced water. Pool well kept and rooms beautifully appointed. Bed & pillow very comfy, nice modern clean, feel. Only a minute or so's walk to the beach. Small & personnal, you can't go wrong here.
We stayed here with our two boys. The rooms are not big but have recently been renovated. We chose this place because it was close to the beach, though we spent more time in the pool than in the ocean. There is no restaurant for breakfast or dinner, but everything is close by that it’s not really a concern. A nice little place to stay.
Loved the #12 room views....clean, modern, and one block from beach. Had one king sized beds and had a 180 view of the ocean. The only down side was that the walls are not sound proofed enough and I could hear some talking in the next room. Also, no elevator. Access is from the outside to the rooms, not from a hotel lobby. They do have a pool and great amenities in the room, frig, microwave, coffee maker.
