Excellent overnight stay. The wine & hors d'oeuvres at sunset was such a pleasant time enjoying the view and chatting with proprietors and other guests. And the breakfast was truly elegant. We'll return when the planned hiking trail through the neighboring olive orchard is finished.

Perched at the top of the green carpeted hills of Paso Robles is an enchanting contemporary version of the Hearst Castle --albeit on a slightly smaller scale.
Our gracious hosts Katherine and William created a warm and inviting atmosphere from the moment we crossed their threshold.
We watched the golden sunset and heard the soft calls of the great horned owls as we relaxed for a restorative four day weekend. The beautiful grounds, the tasteful decor and the delightful hospitality, and the gourmet food were the ticket for a fantastic getaway!
We explored the regions many amenities such as hiking to the top of Bishops Peak, strolling the bluffs above the Pacific coast, sampling boutique wineries etc.
On our last night Chef William created a dinner banquet so inspired and sumptuous that it rivals the internationally renown Michelin Star restaurants that I have reviewed for Trip Advisor!

Agree with all the positive reviews. It is rare that an experience outperforms what you pay for your room, but this one truly did. From the beauty of the setting and view to the helpful and friendly charm of the proprietors to being able to relax in the big spa tub prior to climbing into our comfortable bed, we enjoyed every part of the stay. Including how the place smelled like rosemary rolls. No TV was a plus for us as we were on a romantic getaway. Would recommend that Diane and Jim add some insulation to the ceiling and plumbing (we were in the downstairs front room and a couple of times were a little too aware of the upstairs guests' conversation and water use) but this was a minor issue in an otherwise stellar visit - we would book into that room again, even as it is now. Bottom line is that we've found our Paso Robles home-away and won't be staying anywhere else after this.

Room Tip: Upstairs front is likely to have an even more gorgeous view than we had, and no water noise.

Wonderful, beautiful, impeccable. Katherine and Wills are gracious hosts and share their love of food. Wills is a foremost chef and his appetizing, mesmerizing preparations are second to none. Luxurious room, with bathtub and fireplace, they add a romantic touch. The home sits a top a hill with a view of the local landscape. Hike the newly built path to the Kifer Olive ranch for olive oil tasting and pairing. We had such a wonderful experience we plan to go back at least twice a year.

We spent 2 unforgettable nights at Will and Katherine's house the last week. It is difficult to imagine a more beautiful and serene place than The Canyon Villa. The surroundings (rolling hills, vineyards, olive groves), gorgeous grounds with the front patio overlooking vineyards, back patio with flower garden and terrace, immaculately maintained and decorated Tuscan villa with very comfortable rooms will leave lasting impression. They can take a hike to the neighboring olive farm in the morning not seeing anybody but a deer or an owl.
The dining experience is simply from heaven with food tasting better then from Michelin star restaurants that we have visited. Will and Katherine are very hospitable and ready to help in every little way. It was a truly very memorable and special experience. We are looking forward to coming back with our friends not only to enjoy the place but also to take cooking lessons from Will.
