Great pool, happy hour, breakfast, staff, rooms, location. Easy to find off the main drag. Helpful staff recommended a wonderful place for dinner. They had bikes to borrow but it was too hot for us to try. Each room is unique so go online to see what strikes your fancy. I will be back.

I read about this hotel in a recent Sunset Magazine article featuring best hotels under $150. I booked it last minute and went by myself. It was a great experience. I love the old school vibe and the location is great. Did not get in my car the whole time I was there, rode the beach cruiser to dinner in a cocktail dress.

The staff is so wonderful and accomodating. I will absolutely be back, love that you can bring your own cocktails to the pool..other guests were very nice. Great escape for couples, friends or if you are solo.

Gorgeous setting for lounging around a lovely pool. Laura and crew graciously welcomed me and 35 of my friends for a relaxing poolside holiday. We didn't want to leave and we will be back. Reviews must be at least 200 characters.

A lovely quiet old style hotel with rooms facing the pool. It is an old property so don't expect a decent bathroom! The issue is that it has lost it's raison d'etre I think. Gone are the little things that elevated it to something special; the breakfast was a shadow of what it used to be (thing light rather than continental) and the evening drinks were the same (think plastic food compared to the treats they used to send over from the restaurant next door and no bubbles on Sunday). The problem is it is a very expensive place to stay and without those little special elements you are left with an old decaying place with dreadful bathrooms. Hate to say it but why wouldn't you then stay in a modern hotel if they aren't offering anything different?

We're sorry to hear we didn't meet your expectations. We still offer an amazing breakfast and have a happy hour that most guests rave about. Our prices do fluctuate based on the time of year and we're currently in the busiest time of year. We do suggest your next visit is during a slower time where you will find lower rates.

Our second time staying here (first was in December 2012) was just as great as our first. We've stayed in the Eames Poolside Suite both times and absolutely love the room! Not only is it full of vintage furnishings and has a huge private patio, it is also dog-friendly. Our favorite part of staying at the Del Marcos is the authentic mid-century feel (it was built in 1947). From the lounge chairs around the pool to the super cool lobby to the Marshmallow Sofa outside one of the rooms, it's mid-century modern and orange and we love it! There is a happy hour with drinks every afternoon and breakfast each morning which just continue to add to the welcoming feel of the hotel and its staff. We can't wait to come back to Palm Springs and stay again!

Is the a bar at pool area? Can you purchase beer, etc at the pool?

As I recall you can buy beer and wine at the reception desk which is only a few yards from the pool. But the rooms have fridges, you're probably better off bringing your own if cost is a concern. Hotel is fabulous! Great place to chill.

I should mention I never bought drinks in the lobby (I was pregnant at the time) but when we checked in they showed us a drink menu and did ask if we wanted anything... so I'm assuming the check-in desk is the "bar"
