TripAdvisor reviewers are the best! We were so happy that previous guests steered us to the Hotel Del Marcos when we made a last-minute trip to Palm Springs. Every detail of this hotel is well thought out and artfully decorated in the midcentury modern style. It's exactly what I envisioned and hoped for in Palm Springs. (We spent the first night in a chain hotel and decided to move somewhere more flavorful and indigenous to the area.) Because we booked last-minute, we had to change rooms after the first night. Both rooms were spacious and comfortable, with ample room to store and set out our things. One had a full kitchen and the other had a microwave, mini-fridge and coffee maker. The beds were plush and comfortable, although I would have liked firmer pillows than down, but that's just a personal preference. As a visual person, I loved the art and pops of color, and I couldn't stop taking photos of the furniture in the common spaces. The pool area is fabulous -- quiet and chic with a mountain view, and we enjoyed sitting by the fire pit at night and feeling the desert breeze on our faces. The continental breakfast buffet offered a good start to each morning. The location is excellent -- a block from the vibrant downtown, and we walked to dinner both nights. The front-desk staff members are friendly, and they personally walked us to our room when we checked in. It gave us the feeling of staying at a friend's house instead of a hotel. Ask about the tramway tickets available at the hotel. They were 2 for $39 when we visited, as opposed to $25.95/each from the tramway website.

We spent one night at the Del Marcos with our senior kitty while passing through Palm Springs. We had the Albert Frey Deluxe room which was clean and modern with comfy beds, full kitchen and private patio. Loved everything about this small hotel including the gorgeous setting, hip retro decor and kind and helpful reception staff. An easy walk to bars and restaurants (we arrived late and very hungry; luckily the nearby Lulu California Bistro is open until 10 pm). If you're looking for a pet-friendly small hotel with all the historic charm and ambiance of beautiful Palm Springs, don't miss the Del Marcos!

We booked this hotel because our usually Palm Springs hotel spot was completely booked. We decided to give this hotel a try due to the high reviews.

What we loved: 1) Perfect Location: walking distance to all the shops and restaurants. 2) Hotel is a block off the main street of restaurants and shops, therefore very quiet at night. 3) Las Palmas room: The room has a back sliding door that leads to the balcony and easy access to pool area. 4) Adults only hotel. 5) Excellent service – especially Eric, who served us drinks during Happy Hour with charm and enthusiasm. 6) Breakfast options. 7) Clean and spacious rooms. 8) Casual and fun atmosphere with 50’s music all around. 9) Plenty of parking

Things that bothered us: The only thing was the construction in the area. It was only a nuisance in the morning since we were out and about during the day. Of course, this is not the hotel’s fault but I wanted to mention this in case it may bother some people. Maybe the hotel may know when the construction will end.

Del Marcos has now become our top hotspot hotel in Palm Springs!

The Del Marcos was such a delight! We arrived at 3pm for check in, greeted by very friendly and welcoming staff. We were shown personally to our room and advised of happy hour (wine and punch and snacks served by the pool). Me and my best gal friend stayed in the Albert Frey Deluxe room, which features 2 heavenly queen size beds side by side. I was so incredibly comfortable - I slept like a baby every night. This room has it's own outdoor patio, walk in closet and super cute yellow tiled kitchenette. The ambiance is set up with small speaker boxes playing in the gardens throughout the grounds, classic rat pack favorites and moody 1950's lounge tunes make it so easy to slip into chill holiday mode. I loaned a bike two days in a row and it's the perfect way to cruise the suburbs of Palm Springs and take in the magic mountains and picturesque palms. The rooms, pool and surrounds are all in fabulous and pristine condition. There was some last minute construction next door and on our arrival the desk clerk advised us that we would have $200 off the room total for the trouble. I must say that we barely noticed any noise at all. The staff just wanted to make sure that we were comfortable the whole time. If I return to Palm Springs I would stay at the Del Marcos again - I would love to try each and every room there!

I chose this hotel after a lengthy online search focusing on small boutique hotels and saline pools. We stayed here midweek for an anniversary and were not disappointed. We were greeted in a lovely "retro" furnished lobby by their friendly staff, handed our complimentary drinks, and shown to our room, where our complimentary bottle of champagne was waiting because I had told Laura, the manager, we were celebrating an anniversary. We stayed in the "Esquivel" room, which is a deluxe with a kitchenette and private patio. The hotel is old but every effort has been made to update and provide amenities while keeping the feel of the slower, relaxed pace of the time the hotel was built. We walked everywhere as the hotel is about a block off the Main Street through town, but you feel as if you have stepped back in time once you return. The pool area is lovely and welcoming, just steps from our poolside room - so lovely and quiet we didn't really even use our patio! It was hard to leave, but I know where I will stay in Palm Springs from now on!
