Old heritage hotel. On the plus side: we had a room with beautifull view on the lake. But the atmosphere could not hide the fact that the hotel doesn't meet modern standards. The rooms were small. The breakfast was mediocre.
gave it 3 stars but really I would have given it "good" if there was a good rating. I thought it had atmosphere, great view from our large and comfortable top floor room, , windows front and back, nice warm blankets which I like, hot water hopeless, shower handle fell off most times trying to get hot water, gave up and had a bucket bath, even though bathroom freezing. Nice staff at security and front desk and room service. However the breakfast is a disaster, a little very cold room and one seriously depressed waiter, even though we didn't order it the first morning he bought trance like one after another 3 baskets of toast and mini croissants and jams, we ended up with 20 pieces of toast and croissants etc. the next morning because there was a group in they set up a buffet on the very cold open passageway! Vegetarian, no eggs or butter, the croissants you can imagine. but surprisingly when you do get something you ordered or reheated quite good, never had dinner there, atmosphere too grim
This venerable hotel has a great location on the lake but is seriously in need of an update. Our room was comfortable, but the antiquated electrical system was quirky and the in-room heating unit was inadequate for a cold January night.
This hotel is well located with great views of the lake from its extensive covered walkways/seating areas on each floor. Our room was sizeable and well appointed, with some slight smell from the bathroom plumbing system. Being n the centre of town s good for walking around the lake and seeing activity, albeit a little noisy from wedding and early morning bathing activity. Buffet dinner tasty, and good value. Breakfast - fine.
We were two couples that had reservation at this hotel. The location seems to be very good, so is the building. The room itself isn’t bad but here the good things end.
The aircondition is from the 60th of last century, and very noisy. The pillows are from very low quality and the blankets are terrible, in fact they are just sheets.
There was big noise from the outside.
To summarize, if you above fifty this place is not for you, honestly we run away at that night to other hotel, so I don’t know about the breakfast
