We stayed here for one night on the way back from Tataouine. It was quite late in the evening and we hadn't anticipated stopping but found ourselves too tired to continue driving. My husband called and spoke to the owner who was very kind and helpful. For about $35, we got a simple double room which was a bit tired but very clean. Bathroom was also a bit worn but had plentiful hot water and was also immaculately clean. I understand that some rooms are refurbished and newer, so perhaps try asking for those (we were last minute guests). The hotel is very centrally located and the staff are professional, friendly and helpful. I wouldn't recommend this for anyone looking for upscale accommodations or considering a long-term stay with lots of people but for the price and the location, it is a really good value and kept very clean. Breakfast in the morning was included (eggs, delicious chocolate croissant, tea and coffee) and good. Recommend for a short stay or for the budget conscious as Sfax is one of Tunisia's more expensive cities.

Hotel Thyna is in the best location for visiting Sfax. Rooms are not very sofisticated, they are basic but clean and well kept. The staff is a bit cold but friendly. We paid 80 dinars for a double room.

Good cost over quality , with respect to the tunisian medium standard. The room was nice and the toilet totally refurbished, everything was really clean. It was quite noisy, though, but the employees were very kind.

We had slept in the car for two days so we 'splurged' and booked the suite. In downseason, it amounted to €50 for a four-bed suite. It had a large bathroom with a spacious tub, a two-person bed and a living room with another two beds. It also included a nice terrace overlooking Sfax city center and breakfast. For the price, it was a great deal. Friendly and helpful staff as well. Great basic hotel. WiFi was free but pretty bad reception in the room, though it worked well downstairs.

Sfax is not particularly touristic. We were in the city for 4 days and were booked into this hotel by our hosts at the University. Apparently all guests of the University are booked in here. We were given a regular room which had wifi and air conditioning. The hotel is clean, nice and located in the middle of a bustling neighbourhood. The staff at the front desk spoke English quite well. However, the neighbourhood becomes seedy and noisy after sundown (most shops down shutters and offices close) and we felt a bit uncomfortable walking around. The Sfax railway station is just round the corner.
