Amberg has a fantastic view from the hills towards Paarl IF you have the new appartments with the large windows. Otherwise you are tugged away between bushes and trees (‘gardenview’) in older smaller, dark appartments. We changed our first cottage (Berg1?) to the new spacious bungalow with a very large terrasse (incl braai).
Bit weird to have 2 sofa’s on the terrasse that you would normally place inside your home. They are shabby. Loungechairs would be more appropriate to enjoy the wonderful sunsets.

The area is noisy because of 2 highways. Really a pity. Had to sleep with earplugs.

Perfect airconditioning.
This appartement is very spacious, but needs curtains in the livingroom and darker curtains in the bedroom. A wardrobe in stead of just a rack. glass screens in the bathroom (now everything becomes wet and it’s rather slippery) would be better on the plasterfloor.

Comfortable well-equipped kitchen, huge fridge, microwave, coffeemachine, plates, cuttelary, etc.

The art and paintings are offensive. Not suitable for children. Personally we find it oké, but it’s outspoken the choice of the owners.

The poolarea is a bit poor with rusty chairs and no pillows provided. Maybe we had to ask for them.
Sorry, still some improvement to be done.

We stayed in the Talblick cottage for 6 nights in December. Beautiful property, stunning views, really quiet for some great rest and relaxation time! The owners are an older German couple, very kind and helpful.

The cottage has a small bedroom, bathroom with an open shower area, and open plan kitchen living room. The floors are fully concrete with a few rugs laid out. Some really good quality appliances in the kitchen. There is no wardrobe, just a rail to hang your clothes and some shelving.

Sitting out on the veranda in the evenings is a wonderfully relaxing experience. They have also provided two sun loungers in the area and there is a bbq.

The farm is about 10 mins drive from the main Paarl village.

The cottage is advertised as having an 'extra large double bed' when infact it has two small twin beds. With the cottage being fairly new, there are a few teething problems, we had ac not working, other bits breaking etc. They tried to get things fixed but we would have appreciated if it had been checked before we arrived.
Housekeeping was done daily but was quite a light touch, areas not cleaned, sheets not changed, old towels picked up off floor and hung up. When I asked for fresh ones they did changed them. Laundry was also provided which was very quick.

All in all a great property in a stunning location, just needs a bit more maintenance, otherwise I can see it getting rundown very quickly!

Finally, the owners grow their own veg on the farm -which they let us pick and gave us freshly laid eggs every day! We really appreciated this!

Great place, very clean and friendly hosts. Didn't appreciate the provocative steel artwork though - having been there with small children. We stayed in poolside apartment - very spacious and value for money. Can't use braai though as it is overgrown with plants. DSTV channels are limited - good expand on this, including a more comfortable lounge suite for relaxation.
