This was an unexpected delight - from the warm and gracious welcome by owner/host Pam, to the very comfortable accommodation, to the "wall-to-wall" views of surely the most beautiful bay in all the world. The layout suited our family group of 6 adults perfectly - the 3 en-suite rooms opened up onto that deck. Adequate lighting and warnings were provided for the scheduled nationwide eletricity load-shedding; the rooms were serviced daily with a fresh supply of biscuits and beverages; each room had a mini-fridge to store personal stuff and we had a daily choice of English or German-style breakfasts with a fruit platter/cereals/yoghurt included. Pam was attentive but not intrusive with loads of useful references. The site was perfect for a breakaway: a 2-minute walk to Robberg Beach which also meant we were all lulled to sleep by the sound of the waves at night. It is also perfectly named: every day we were treated to the sight of dolphins leaping, surfing and swimming, against the backdrop of lilac, sunlit mountains.
Very welcoming. The hostess was warm and informative and invited us with a glass of wine. We got useful information about restaurants nearby. We loved Enricos!
Clean with everything you need. Big bathroom. Private fridge outside the room with minibar. Plenty of towels.
Beutiful view from the tree deck outside. We saw dolphins in the morning!
Great beach nearby with walking distance.
Breakfast: Classic African breakfast. Both hot and cold. Nothing special. Average.
Good to know:
Your car will be parked on the driveway. No gates.
We stayed 4 nights here in the middle of October. Pam made us feel very welcomed throughout, often with a cup of tea. Pam knew so much about the area and helped us with tips for walks, activities and restaurants (which proved great) even booking them for us when needed. We absolutely loved the outside decking area …it had great views of the beach (we did see some dolphins) and what a place to have breakfast. The room was comfy and clean with a huge bathroom. There was easy access to the nice lounge and decking from the room. Parking was easy on the drive of the house. It’s a short drive in to town and a 10 minute drive to Robberg. We used it as a base for Knysna as well as Plettenburg Bay activities; we found all were easy to reach
I don't know where to start because everything was wonderful. I'll start with my favorite: the view from the deck where I watched a large pod of dolphins swimming up the length of the beach and surfing in the waves. The whole property is lovely and the location can't be beat. My room had plenty of windows, door to inside and sliding glass door to outside, and a beautiful large private bathroom. Pam is an exceptional host! Really, I think she's thought of everything to make guests feel comfortable including having in room tea and cookies and access to a private refridgerator. The breakfast was plentiful and delicious. The bed was comfortable. The common area was very nice. It is just all wonderful. In addition, Pam went out of her way to help me have a good sight-seeing experience! Trust me, this is the place you want to stay.
This B&B is in a wonderful location. There is a large deck overlooking the ocean which is a perfect place for breakfast in the morning, reading a book in the afternoon or sipping wine and stargazing in the evening. We stayed for 4 nights and would have loved to stay longer. The location gives easy access to the beach as well as many hiking trails and attractions—Robberg Nature Reserve, Tenikwa, Birds of Eden to name just a few.
The owner, Pam, was helpful and informative from our first email communication throughout our stay. She was always available to offer suggestions for sightseeing or dining and she was happy to make reservations.
We stayed in the Dolphin Suite and our friends were in the room next door. Both rooms were lovely. It was especially nice to have both a walk-in shower and a bathtub. The honesty fridge was a perfect place to keep our own wine and leftovers chilled and was stocked with a good variety of drinks available for purchase.
Breakfast was delicious and ample. You help yourself to granola, cereal, fresh fruit, yogurt, freshly squeezed orange juice and have the option of a hot breakfast made to order or a cold meat and cheese plate.
The staff, Patience and Funeka, were lovely and they must be commended on their consideration for the guests, in particular when setting up for breakfast in the morning which they did with special attention to being quiet so as not to disturb the sleeping guests. It was a pleasure to tip these lovely ladies when we checked out.
An excellent laundry service is provided free of charge! We had over the top service as the team worked diligently on a stubborn stain on one of my husband's favourite shirts and after several attempts they were successful at removing the stain that we had been unable to remove.
This intimate B&B is a little piece of paradise and if we ever get back to SA, we will definitely stay here! Thank you to Pam, Patience and Funeka for a most memorable stay!
