First of all,the guest that reviewed this property saying it was a dump with rats is lying. Obviously a mean person. This is our 3rd time in Aitutaki, first time staying at this property. We were greeted with lei's at the airport by Tania the manager. Rooms very clean & they have a/c which is a plus! Most places just have fans. The bedding was nice, and the bed was comfortable. Rooms are cleaned everyday. Some places clean every three days. There is complimentary coffee and tea in the room. Also complimentary breakfast is included. Great location. The water in front of the property is the best on the island. Tania the manager was just great! She helped us with all our needs. And trust me, we are a
needy family. The food at the Blue Lagoon Restaurant was really good. Overall, my family and I were very happy staying here at the Aitutaki Village and would highly recommend it to anyone.

The location was great. Room was adequate but could be improved with indoor chairs and small table as outside plastic chairs are not very comfortable. Disappointed that the wifi was not free even though it was stated our itinerary. We were given 1 free voucher but refused any more. Was told by the manager that 'free wifi' doesn't mean free for the whole time! The paddleboat had been broken for a month - even on island time it should have been repaired or replaced. The Bishop's boat cruise to One Foot Island was good. Friendly helpful staff.

Stayed for 3 nights. It is an amazing location and right on a much nicer beach than the 4 star Aitutaki Lagoon Resort just over the water. Free use of kayaks etc and a good breakfast with fruit and pancakes are included. An added bonus was a free boat trip to One Foot Island which could be upgraded to $55 for the proper snorkelling trip with Bishops Cruises (saving $40). Bungalows were spacious albeit reasonably basic and bed quite comfy and had aircon, though all wood and quite dark as there was not a lot of lighting. However a small table in the room would have been useful and the chairs for the table outside were wobbly and not proper outdoor furniture. It would have been good if we had been provided with mossie coils so we didn't use the deck. There was a clothes airer which was super useful! No TV but who needs that with such lovely scenery :)

Good location, clean room, which we liked, but the breakfast included was low quality and poor range, cheapest ham and cheese, fliers hoovering over the plates. comparing to the room rates NZ$350-400, the breakfast just disappointed us.
The most annoying thing is the restaurant staff knocking every room, every afternoon, to ask if you want order a dinner from their restaurant, even though we had put the sign 'do not disturb', they still knocked doors til the guests open their doors.
We stayed at Aitutaki and Rarotanga for a week, the impressions about the people running business on the islands, such as accommodations, restaurants, or other shops, who are trying get more money from travelers, but give less to them.

First off i must say of the tropical places on this planet i have visited -Aitutaki is the best in many ways. When staying on Aitutaki i was looking for a comfortable place to stay that was convenient to what i wanted to do, and a place that felt like a local resort. Samade delivered in all ways and was a better experience than i even expected.

Crisp clean sheets on the bed, flowers everywhere in the room and a chilled coconut on arrival. Every morning i had a great breakfast and heaps of NZ bacon for breakfast while looking out over the lagoon. At Samade you can actually get in the water every day all day right off the beach. Some of the other hotels have issues at low tide, so be careful about those.

The bungalows are clean and the fans and A/C give you a nice respite at the end of the day. I slept really well here. Yes there are roosters all over Aitutaki to greet the day. Keep the windows closed and the A/C on and you'll never know they are there until you wake up.

Thomas is the caring owner and briefed me about my stay and about the property on arrival. His right arm is Elaine who picked me up, dropped me off, and answered all my questions. They care about their guests and it shows.

On occasion the restaurant might be out of something-thats because the whole island might be out of something. They live at the end of a logistical shoe string so be expecting that to happen on occasion.

Kia Orana Rod, Thank you for your positive comments about your recent stay with us. I have shared this with the team and they have all said 'hi to Rod & thanks!'. Our shorftfalls regarding supplies is something that we are addressing as an industry and we will be putting in place measures to minimise our challenges in this regard. Thanks for sharing your stories about your stay on One Foot Island, especially about the cats catching their own fish.......I certainly wish to witness this sometime. We trust you have arrived home safely....all the very best until we see you next time you visit us. Kia Manuia.....THOMAS & Team Samade.
