Nice and cozy bungalow hotel just is front of the most beautiful lagoon in the world, you don’t need tv or luxury when you have a view like this.
The room are more than basic and always clean, big bed and big shower, fresh water is always available in the fridge.
The restaurant is just on the lagoon, with a good choice of typical dishes.
People from the Aitutaki village are always
smiling and friendly, and they are always at your disposal.
The cruises for the famous Motus and one foot islands are leaving from the beach just in front of the bungalows.
100% suggested!

My wife and I stayed in Aitutaki Village for a couple days during our honeymoon. The location and accommodations were beautiful. On site kayaks were a nice touch. The attached restaurant is good and has an amazing buffet breakfast, but often runs out of dinner items (makes sense as the island is quite remote and shipping is an issue) The music is way too loud for the tranquil location.

We loved our stay except for some real issues with the staff. We were introduced to the resort by an amazing staff member named Elaina(?). She was courteous and drove us from the airport to our room. She gave us a lot of great information on the area and booked us in while we waited for our lagoon cruise.

Unfortunately the rest of the stay was managed by a staff member called "Aunty Love". During the last day of our stay my wife and I were relaxing in the lawn chairs close to the beautiful lagoon when Aunty Love and a bunch of the locals started blasting their own music. Seemed pretty unprofessional as the music was very loud, driving off many of the other guests. We could even hear the music through the walls of our room, so there was no way to get away from it. Aunty Love was also walking around with open alcohol while going between her friends and the front desk. My wife and I let her know the music was very loud and we were leaving the resort to find somewhere quiet, but she did not seem too concerned.

My wife and I had an early flight to catch the following morning and let Aunty Love know we would need a transfer. She said she would inform the staff and a transfer would be no issue. We woke up the next morning and milled around the entrance waiting for our transfer. We started to worry about 45 minutes before our flight as no staff was present. We had to go to the owner's on site house and knock on the door to get service as it was quite early. Luckily we ran into Elaina from the first day. After apologizing she rushed us to the airport, but we had just missed our flight. Elaina did a great job of getting us on our next flight for free and comped us a portion of our total bill at the resort.

Though Elaina was an amazing host and provided great support on the first and last day, we found the whole experience to be frustrating due to the unprofessional staff on site for the other days.

We stayed for 4 nights in June 2019. The staff made this trip for us - Elaine on front desk and all the bar/wait staff at Blue Lagoon were terrific and couldn't have done more for us.

Location is great, though it was helpful to have a car to explore the island. The Blue Lagoon has great food and amazing views on to the water. It was also nice to be able to take a boat out to the other islands right from the hotel. Koru Cafe was a quick walk and fantastic food/service. The Boat Shed was also a quick walk with car/bike rentals. Food and drinks were not great at The Boat Shed.

The room was pretty basic for the price - it could do with a facelift and some more high-end finishes. My husband kept telling people we were 'glamping' because it felt like a motorhome. The important things - comfy bed, screens on all windows, AC unit and hot water were all there. And you're paying for the location, since Aitutaki has really limited accommodation choices for families.

We would definitely stay again and would recommend to family/friends.

Good location, clean room, which we liked, but the breakfast included was low quality and poor range, cheapest ham and cheese, fliers hoovering over the plates. comparing to the room rates NZ$350-400, the breakfast just disappointed us.
The most annoying thing is the restaurant staff knocking every room, every afternoon, to ask if you want order a dinner from their restaurant, even though we had put the sign 'do not disturb', they still knocked doors til the guests open their doors.
We stayed at Aitutaki and Rarotanga for a week, the impressions about the people running business on the islands, such as accommodations, restaurants, or other shops, who are trying get more money from travelers, but give less to them.

We spent 6 nights here and loved every minute. All the large rooms have recently been renovated and are very comfortable, all with AC, hot water and very good beds. All set in a nice garden setting. The restaurant hotel (Blue Lagoon), has an amazing position and outlook over the lagoon and we just loved hanging there all day. The continental breakfast (which was included in our room rate) was fantastic - fruit, whole meal bread, healthy cereal options, etc... an hot pancakes everyday! We also ate at the restaurant for lunchtime and dinner and it was very nice. My husband caught some fish in the reef and the restaurant were very happy to cook it for us one night. But if you want to try something different, Koru Cafe (we loved this place) and the Boatshed are only a 5 minute walk away. The location of Aitutaki Village is great as well. Next to a beautiful lagoon which is great for small children and swimming. A lot of the lagoon cruises leave from this place of Aitutaki as well so we only needed a car for 1 day and the rest of the time we were happy to stay near the hotel. Very friendly and helpful and kind staff who helped us arrange boat tours, car rentals, spear fishing trip, etc. 2 very sweet cats (both ginger) - Honey and Lemon. We can’t speak more highly of this place - loved it!
