I have been staying at this hotel for 20 years. They have made so many wonderful upgrades. The best mattress/pillows in the renovated room we had ♥️
Joshua is still on top of everything. Gaby took great care of all our needs from the reception area. The entire staff are friendly and there to take care of you.
The food was excellent, as always.
We stayed a week and used the location as our base camp! This is the best beach and boutique hotel and, as you can tell, we HIGHLY recommend it.
We are looking forward to our next trip there.

Our first time to this hotel but 3rd time traveling to Costa Rica. Absolutely loved it here. Our room was ocean view and the grounds were lovely. Everyone is so nice and helpful and Luis was great! It is in a quiet area on a lovely beach just 22 miles from the Liberia Airport.

This staff, especially Joshua , are THE BEST staff I have ever experienced in all my 45 years of travel!! I thought I was a celebrity. Joshua had a cold beverage waiting for me after he recommended an awesome fishing trip! He lined up ‘Freddy “ who knows the bay like the back of his hand! We caught rooster fish within 15 minutes and then went snorkeling and then a secluded beach!! On the way back he stopped at another of his secret spots and my daughter caught a 70lb rooster fish!! I hate to brag this place up so much cuz I probably won’t be able to get a room after this but these staff people need this acclamation!! Thank you Joshua, Genaro, Luis and everyone else!!

We stayed in a room on the second floor for 2 nights. Room was airy , tall ceilings, and clean. Bathroom was a bit tight in space but everything functioned well. The AC was fabulous and the ceiling fan was good to have. Screens on the bathroom window were helpful in keeping the mosquitos out. The hotel is conveniently located - close to Liberia airport and it’s right on the Hermosa beach. The ocean is great, calm water, and the beach had lots of locals on the weekend creating a really nice atmosphere. The restaurant has great good and the drinks are good. The staff is very friendly and helped me rent a car , when most rentals had sold out.
We even returned to stay one additionally night on the way out of CR, We decided to spend one last night on the beach before catching our flight in the morning rather than stay at an airport hotel !

When planning our trip we looked at everything from the Weston to ARBNB’s and then we came across a place that was listed for under $100 per night right on the beach. Not going to lie I was pretty skeptical. But we read the reviews and decide this place was worth a shot. Best vacation decision I have ever made. This is not a 5 star resort but what it is, is a 5 star 3.5 star motel. 20 something rooms on 2 stories with large rooms. They have a fridge and a microwave. They tell you it takes 3-5 minutes to get hot water but we ALWAYS had it. Bathroom is a little small but we knew that and took a hanging toiletry bag that made up for it. The front desk was amazing helped set up some amazing excursions and recommend someone to do our laundry. Thanks Gaby you are special. Housekeeping was performed everyday and did above average job to include some towel art. We left iPads and other devices out and never had any problems. The bartender's/waiters are what made this place great. They remember who you are and what you are drinking. We would ask for something to be done a little different than on the menu and they would run it by the kitchen staff and we were never disappointed. The bar and food items were all priced very reasonable. Try the whole red snapper on their BBQ nights. The wife tried a steak one night and it was cooked to perfection. The ocean is at your front door it honestly couldn’t be any closer. The beach was never crowded very relaxing. We used their pool a few times great place to sit and cool off. Did I mention the bar sits right next to the pool maybe 10 feet away. We always had a drink in our hands.

Know that you will need some bug spray. We used deet and it worked great to keep those flies and misquotes at bay. They were not bad more of an annoyance. We never had a problem with them in our room.

The one thing they could do to improve was to get some lie flat lounge chairs. Maybe more of a personal taste I just like to lie on my stomach and you could not do that with their chairs.

Here is my recommendation. We would come back to this place again and again.

Does the room have a coffee pot available?
Answer from Sharon L
Mar 2018 |
Most rooms do not have coffee pots or kettles. Perhaps this is something they will add in time. The restaurant downstairs is ready to go at 7am and coffee is ready for you. It is bottomless so no need to worry about your 2nd or 3rd cup. The rooms are definitely not dirty. The staff cleans and tidies the rooms everyday. The safe is an older model but it surely locks quite securely.

hey NY, this is not the place to ask that, this is a place to ask other travelers questions about the place. Feel free to the hotel directly as Mike the owner is from Canada and English is not a problem at this hotel. Highly recommended, have fun.

No, pretty sure they don't. The rooms are simple, 1 king or 2 queen types.
