The bungalow is situated at a beautiful location, at the top of the hills. Enormous space around which was perfect for our family trip, a swimming pool at the edge of the garden with a spectacular view, as well as a game room inside the house. Charming antique interior decor making it feel so comfy and complimenting the cold weather outside. Second best thing about this place is the tea factory we visited, that’s right next to the bungalow escorted by one of the staff.

All around great view, hospitality, service and well maintained rooms. A lovely spot to experience with family!

We stayed at Hatale bungalow for two nights and had a relaxing time and a memorable experience. The views are breathtaking and the garden nicely maintained.

The rooms are quite spacious and we all had a fun time thanks to the game room. The food was tasty and the chef was happy to serve us whatever we asked for.

The tea factory tour was interesting. The kids had a good time. The manager was willing to arrange hiking as well.

All the family members were happy with the place and I can recommend it to those who want to unwind from the busy life.

And they do have Wifi.

We stayed at this breathtakingly beautiful place for 2 nights and it was simply magical.
On arrival we were greated by warm smiles and an extremly friendly staff. Mr. Arkam was simply the best. He continuously made sure we were comfortable and was the perfect host!

Walking into the garden we were caught off hand by the beauty of the nature. The pictures do no justice to the real beauty this place offers!!! This is a must see! You will not be dissapointed!! Words can't describe the view enough. To wake up to this view in the morning was such a bliss.
Perfect spot for some good family photos!

The bangalow itself is amazing. Spacious rooms, a game room equipped with a wide range of games from foosball to chess to pool games and a swimming pool right at the edge adds to the perfection.
So many atrractions nearby to visit as well- mini world's end(hike/threewheel ride), multiple waterfalls especially the huluganga water fall, madulkalle view point, hatale Meezan tea estate. Mr Arkam will arrange everything for you!

Food wise, Mr Raju is the perfect chef. You name it he cooks. He is both creative in presentation and taste. Absolutely enjoyed his food!

And also a very special thank you goes to Mr. Oliver! He took time off his busy schedule to provide us with a mesmerising tour of the tea factory. And nope it wasn't like the usual ordinary tour you get. It was very educational and we finally understood the real chemistry behind each action. Thank you for that eye opening information! And the tea tasting experience was one of a kind! Glad to have made friends with such a genuine, funny and warm hearted person as you.

Overall I can't stress enough how great this place is. A must visit place. We will definitely come back! Missing the place already! Such beautiful memories. So lovely getting to know so many beautiful souls!!

~much love till we meet again.

They advertise prices as low as US$70 or $80 for a room - but then charge $10 per head for breakfast, $20 per head for lunch and $20 per head for dinner - with 20% service charge on top of it . So if you are two people that is $120 extra on a $80 room rate and if you have a young kid or two - its $240 extra on a $80 room rate.

Cheats.

Hotel is an old colonial bungalow which is stuck in time. This is definitely part of the charm.

The furniture seems as old as the building which is generally fine but would recommend upholstering the threadbare sofas and giving them a good dusting.

Great gardens for the children to play and a games room for the evening. Pity the swimming pool was empty of water.

The food was good but I didn't get the impression that staff could see how westerners would be quite put off with the number of flies left to their own devices.

Staff were friendly and helpful.

We requested a tour of the plantation and a visit to the tea factory and the deputy manager arranged a fabulous (but exhausting) visit. We really did feel like owners of a tea plantation during our short stay.

Would definitely recommend over the larger and more impersonal hotels. My kids loved the stay.
