We had a wonderful dinner in Villa Birdlake restaurant. Our transport to Villa Birdlake was a TukTuk. This place is like magic by the beautiful lake. So beautiful and special. We loved it. The service was excellent and the Rice and Curry was perfect. We felt so welcome and we just wanted to stay forever.
We saw a hotel room - it was so beautiful and perfect. We would love to stay here on day.

We visited Villa Birdlake restaurant in February 2017.
Thank you for a perfect evening in beautiful Villa Birdlake restaurant.

We stayed here for two nights in March 2018. The location is a bit out of the way and on the edge of a lake. If there is not a wedding going on it is very peaceful. The room is basic and the shower works fine. The lady who runs it is lovely. We enjoyed our stay here

The room are cosy and clean. We went with our 2 yr old toddler. He had a fun time walking around the garden. Wish we stayed longer to enjoy a canoe ride in the lake. I recommend it for travellers who look for a calm and quiet. They don't have a pool.

This place is just gorgeous, more so because of the beautiful staff. We were greeted and treated with so much warmth during our stay. I really wished I had booked a couple of nights. It felt like we were staying at a friend‘s house.

The French doors on the balcony opened up to a stunning view of the lush green forest and the lake. We borrowed the canoe and went for a row on the lake, and it was so peaceful and calming. The room is basic but adequate, and good value for money. The water pressure in the shower is quite poor, but it didn’t bother me too much as it was all part of the experience.

We went for a walk to the main road to catch a tuk tuk into town to eat at a seafood restaurant. But after being served breakfast the next day I wish we had stayed at the Villa as it was delicious. The breakfast was one of the best we had in Sri Lanka.

I cant’t recommend this place enough. Perfect for couples and people wanting to get away from the crowds and noise. The beach is just a short tuk tuk away.

Dear Guest, Thank you for choosing Villa Birdlake as your preferred holiday destination. We are truly happy to hear that you had an amazing holiday over at the villa and you found our hospitality satisfying. We are even more thrilled to know that you not only enjoyed our heartfelt warm hospitality but also you loved our food. The ambiance is such that it takes you back to a world where time stands still, it may not be everyone's cup of tea but the ones who, who truly enjoy nature, colonial style artifacts and quiet waters, Villa Birdlake truly is a paradise! We would take note of the drawbacks & would try to make every thing better for all our future guests. Do come again and we sure will continue to make memories for you that would last a life time! Team Birdlake

Villa Birdlake is a place to witness rustic Sri Lankan architecture, in the middle of a well maintained "nature" full of surprises. Hikkaduwa lake is an additional pearl to Villa Birdlake where you can find wilderness and birds of many kinds...

Road to Villa Birdlake: When we enter the Villa Birdlake lane, the view was surprising and it instigated inquisitiveness to know more...

Booking: I booked family room on the Villa Birdlake website and received a call within couple of hours from the Management. During the formalities on a light note I asked it would be better to have fishing rod as my Son loves fishing...

Check-in: The management and staff were caring and the welcome was indeed "Warmth" and is something different from other hotels or resorts. Guess what, the management handed over the fishing rod to my Son and I was shocked; also, they gave bait for fishing in Hikkaduwa Lake. The happiness I saw in my Son's eyes cannot be explained through words but to be felt.

Stay: Villa Birdlake is the best place to visit in and near Hikkaduwa, if are looking for a calm and peaceful place.

Food: You can order the food from their "A la Carte" menu and you would taste good food which is value for money.

Turtle feeding: It takes 15 minutes drive to reach a wonderful location of beach, where everyday morning "Sea Turtles" come to shore where hundreds of visitors feed them with their bare hand. The experience is breath taking!

Walk through: The walk ways would give you view to one of the precious and best birds of Sri Lanka. Also, when you climb down to the lake either in the morning or evening you will spot monitor lizards...

Villa Birdlake is a unique place and one should visit to witness serenity and warmth complementing nature's love.

First and foremost, we want to thank you for taking your valuable time off in forwarding us a descriptive review on your stay. We at Villa Birdlake are ever so grateful to you for doing so. Adding on, it is an indescribable feeling of contentment we find in knowing that our guests found our hospitality satisfactory and found our accommodation to their expectation. As you have suggested, the misty labyrinth mud road leads to something that is quite surreal. A mix of pure Sri Lankan warmth combined with a panorama that is just out of this world. To know that we have delivered more than what you expected, makes us just feel that we have lived up to our core values. Being warm is rather a human quality.. That warmth and hospitality combined, now that is something rare. Thank you for choosing Villa Birdlake once again and we look forward to seeing you once again. Team Birdlake
