A fantastic stop on our trip through Rajasthan. A magnificent residence on a property in gentle decay. A great room. Very friendly staff. A wonderful dinner in the middle of a courtyard. Ajay was a great host. A trip to the summer palace is a must. If you are driving though the area this is a great one or two night stay.

Historic Heritage Hotel brought to life by the owner and staff. What a great experience - staying in a top turret suite - amazing!!
Owner, Ajay was generous with his time in order to give us a really memorable stay, one of the best of a 3 month tour of India, including fascinating tours of village and Princes’ palace with Arjun
Highlight was sunset visit to lake and lamp lit summer palace with sundowners and a drive in Ajay’s WWII American army jeep
Enjoyed the authentic meals.
Unreservedly recommend this wonderful palace and owner

Very memorable and very different from all other stops in Rajasthan. Ajay's hospitality is exemplary, and his recounting of his family's history back to the 15th Century over a gin and tonic was enthralling. The last ten reviews accurately describe the fort's ambience and the comfort/exquisiteness of the bedrooms. The visits to the winter and summer palaces were very interesting, as was the Jeep journey through the Begun countryside, including a quick stop at a regulated opium grower. Good luck Ajay in your development plans for the Fort - you deserve best wishes for your determination to restore part of India's heritage.

Do not regard this as a stopover. It is an experience. It feels as if you have been transported to a different time. Peacocks strut , oil lamps cast a glow on the ancient walls in the evening. One sits around a fire for drinks, sleeps in a room with mosaics of mirrors and is taken on an excursion to an even more romantic palace in a lake. One must stay here in order to enjoy the mood and the ambience. It is not really luxurious and quite expensive so come prepared to steep yourself in the atmosphere. Anjay and the staff give their all to making this a memorable stay. NB there are lots of narrow steep stairs.

A fascinating place to stay. We enjoyed every moment. Our host Ajay went to such trouble to provide us with magical memories on his surprise evening trips with every detail thought through. We thoroughly enjoyed our chats with him.
We loved our room high up at the very top above the birds in the trees. The parakeets and their racket in the trees green streaks flashing by. The peacocks shrieking in the evening light and strutting past our room. But nothing kept us awake in our little room. It was small and delightful with little corner windowed spaces with coloured glass. Our bathroom on the other had was huge and well appointed with 2 wash basins
Arjun took us on a tour of the very friendly town as well as a tour of the beautiful and ruinous Princes Palace providing us with an unforgettable experience.
This is a very special place.
