My husband and I were able to stay here for four nights in mid January 2019. I cannot say enough nice things about our experience. The night receptionist, I don’t know her name but I called her Cinderella, was delightful and prepared for us when we arrived in the evening. The property itself, is quaint comfortable, charming, and a good value for the money. The owner, Stephan was pleasant and helpful. The staff, Alline, day receptionist,Ninha and the kitchen/housekeeping staff were all delightful, friendly, and made everyone comfortable. The pousada is quite pleasant, tropical landscaping, quiet, delightful relaxing pool. It is literally steps away from the beach and a short walk to the main street, although, quite a steep hill to climb to get there. Glad that we stayed here, near the beach, as most of the properties along the main street hear all the noise . We had a wonderful stay here at Pousada Barbara and would definitely return. I highly recommend this property, a little bit of paradise.

Traveling with friends through Brazil for the 2014 World Cup, this was by far the best place that we stayed in.

First, Pipa is a great place. We were based in Natal but took a short side trip to Pipa and my group of five guys all agreed we should have spent more time in Pipa. The beaches are nice, the people friendly, the prices reasonable, and there are both quiet areas and a good number of active bars and restaurants in town.

Pousada Barbara has an excellent location, very centrally located between the three main beaches of Pipa, literally 50 yards from the beach, 50 yards from the main beach restaurants, and a five minute walk to the center of town, all while being set back in a very quiet area.

The rooms all have an outdoor patio surrounding the pool with hammocks and chairs, great for getting out of the room. Our rooms were clean and comfortable and we felt quite at home, safe and sound. Our room had a small refrigerator which was great for chilling our essentials. We were told that all of the rooms had been remodeled in the last year. While not a luxury property (this reminded me of a tropical version of 1960s motels in the Western USA in a good way) this place was quite nice.

The pool was small, but very clean and refreshing, and nice to have just steps away from the room.

The breakfast was good and in a nice setting in the central courtyard by the pool, even came with a visit by a family of small monkeys.

Best of all, the owner Stephane and his staff went beyond expectations in providing us with services, including arranging a driver to and from Natal at a very reasonable price (in advance by e-mail which greatly simplified our trip), as well as providing advice on restaurants and things to do in Pipa. If I brought my family which includes two small children to Brazil, I would bring them here.

stayed here for a few nights and everything was good. maybe the breakfast chef could have been a bit friendlier but he might not be a 'morning person' ...;) but the breakfast is delicious. the pool is not too big but the water seems softer then any pool I swam. the rooms are not that big and look like little cottages in different collours with a veranda and a hammock. the garden is a paradise for kolibri and little monkeys and Barbara herself is a nice relaxed woman who has been living there for years. it was for me a great place to relex next to the beach.

My family and I stayed for 5 night at this pousada and we would certainly recommend it for those who are looking for a comfortable bed, a clean room, a good breakfast and an excellent location. We had two rooms, both equal, one with a double bed and another with two single beds. The rooms are basic, relatively small, with in suite toilet and shower. They have air conditioning and a fan on the ceiling. There is a small old-fashioned TV with a few channels, all in Portuguese. Matrasses and linen are clean and good quality products. Each room has a a very nice semiprivate space at the front with two armchairs, a small table and a hammock. There is a common area including a pool, divided into kids and adult areas, a deck and a toilet. There is also an open living room with sofas, tables and a bookcase wtih books available to guests. Ther are also some games (chess and others). The owner is a very nice lady, she is fluent in German and English, further than Portuguese (most of the books you can borrow are in German!).
The breakfast is OK, including coffee or tea, juices, milk, yoghut, cereals, cakes, bread, butter and jams, assorted fresh fruits, chesse and ham and eggs cooked on the hour. Teas and hot water are avaliable at any time. Breakfast is served from 8 am to 10 am (7 to 9 am would be better in my opinion!).
It is just across the street from a nice beach with almost no waves and warm water. If you are in for surfing, you just need to walk to Praia do amor, some 10 minutes away walking on the beach in low tide. Walking some 20 minutes to the other direction, again on the beach and with low tie, you can reach Praia dos golfinhos. This is an incredible beautiful beach, with almost no infrastructure, where you can actually swim with dolphins, watching them play, jump and chase fish. Be sure to be back before the sea blocks the way (or be ready to wait until the next low tide!).
The main street in town, where most shops and restaurants/bars are located is just 300 m away from the pousada. The streets are very steep, but at least you go downwards when you return, after dinner. This is one of the few pousadas at sea level. In most of the others you have to go down in long and steep stairs to go to the beach.
The pousada has a private parking space and free wifi with a strong signal and reasonable speed.
During check-in you will be given a map and a timetable with the tides that becomes very helpful.
Certainly, a place to recommend.

Few steps from the sea, small walk to downtown, Clean, comfortable, familiar place. Very nice pool to rest after a Seashore walk... High tides at afternoon makes better to walk early in the morning. On the Dolphin beach, there are plenty of them swimming near the people. Very nice Breakfest with custom options made just in time. Attendants allways ready to help. For sure I will return there!
