This is a lovely hotel just outside Paraty center. The rooms are clean and comfortable with a shower that has serious water pressure. The pool is excellent with bonus afternoon tea/coffee and cakes served at 4. The breakfast is good too....Really fresh OJ. Value was unbeatable with a standard room costing 180 real at the reception (255 on booking dot com!!)

The Pousada is nice, cozy, the room is clean and tidy, bathroom with huge shower and products. Very good breakfast, swimming pool is small but clean, but still the price is too high for this level of hosting... High season, ok, but not a 4 stars hotel. For a lower price my review would have been a 4 to 5

We stayed here for two nights. The hotel is lovely. The room was nice. Very clean and quiet. The staff were helpful but did not speak much English. The pool is small and in the middle of the hotel which is a little weird and I didn't use it. It's a 25 min walk/ 3 min drive to paraty. Very good breakfast selection.

Pousada is one of the best I have stayed in. Here are the reasons why, as well as why not 5 stars.

Positives
Garden is so relaxing. Very well kept
Husband and wife own it and run it so the standards are high and kept
Breakfast is very fresh.
Afternoon tea with amazing homemade cakes.
Rooms are very new, clean and Aircon is so quiet. They are quite small but so much Pousada space. Beds are very comfortable.
Peaceful. Friendly staff.

Negatives
My only negative like most people's that's its 20 minutes walk out of town. For us this was no issue at all as we were only staying two nights so happy to walk each day. If staying longer you may find it a bit annoying. They do have bikes for $30 day hire. We did this one day and saw the whole town. Highly recommend hiring bikes and exploring. Just don't do what we did and cycle to the waterfalls. It's bloody miles away and uphill even though trip advisor has it as around the corner.

All in all would I stay here again. I'm not sure just because of the distance. But in saying that 100% glad I did stay here due to it changed our trip for the better by cycling for a day and also walking the town. If you are happy to walk this place is for you. Amazing.

Oh and the pool is a very nice touch after a day in the garden/beach.

My husband and I just spent four nights in this wonderful family run Pousada. We loved it! Marta and her husband are incredibly welcoming. They couldn't do enough for us. I was surprised on arrival to find Afternoon Tea in full swing. I wasn't expecting this. Marta is an amazing baker. She tempted us daily with cakes and treats. She even emailed me the recipe to her delicious Lime and meringue cake. On Easter Sunday my husband realised he had run out of contact lens solution. Marta drove him to a pharmacy so he wouldn't be uncomfortable. Marta and her husband organised taxis for us, and booked us on the tours we wanted to go on at very good prices. Marta's staff are lovely. They make up the rooms daily creating art with the towels. I had to take the swan towel sculptures apart to see how to do them. On the last morning one of the maids showed me towels made into boats. This sort of thing is just the fun element of the whole experience. The swimming pool is ideal for dipping and you can get a little work out if the multiply your normal laps several times over. Marta keeps a lovely garden. The public areas of the hotel are bright and cheerful. The place is spotless! I'm very fussy about cleanliness. All the suites are a good size. They are not big. Some rooms are quite small, but that doesn't matter as there is plenty of space to spread out and enjoy the family atmosphere in the rest of the house. I would highly recommend staying here. The only down side is the distance from the historical town centre and the restaurants. This lovely pousada is nestled against the rain forest close by. You can see the tiny monkeys in the trees in the morning. If you can manage and don't mind a brisk 20 minute walk into town then this is worth the distance. I have a bad knee right now and so I couldn't manage that this time. It meant we had to take taxis every time we wanted to go anywhere. Taxis are a fixed price in Paraty no matter where you want to go around the town. Each taxi journey costs the equivalent of $10 US. It was not unusual to spend $30 US a day on taxis alone. If you are a walker then you don't have a problem. If you need taxis consider the additional cost.
