We were in town for a 50th wedding anniversary and this was the closest motel to the site. We'd been here before about 6 years ago, and it's been updated since.
Because we're Choice Hotels Elite members, we got upgraded to a mini-suite with a kitchen. Nice to have the extra room, but the kitchen (which we didn't need) was very basic with an old stove (newer refrigerator, though). Still, the room was nice - the tub was a huge one with a giant mirror mounted on the back wall. As geezers, we really didn't need that, but I can see how it would work out for some of the younger set.
Everything was clean, television worked well.
To our surprise, the motel has a lounge! I managed to get a very nice IPA and it was appreciated... hit the spot. The lounge has a counter right by the pool - it will be nice in the summer.
Everyone was very friendly and helpful. We had fun and enjoyed our stay.
We stayed 3 nites, Basic but nice, clean rooms. Nice pool, game room, & exercise facility. Breakfast included but also pretty basic. Staff was very nice. We stayed here as its only 30min drive to Augusta (Masters) and didn't need to get into traffic on rt20. Location is perfect for that. During Masters they also have a 3+ hr cocktail party with live music. Band on Sunday & Monday was really good. They offered a good beer, wine selection and mixed drinks too. A great way to relax after a full day at the golf course. Aiken is a great spot for some local shopping, plenty of equestrian activities and history in town too. We'll be back if we're lucky enough to get Masters tix again. Thanks!
Staff was extremely courteous and helpful. Pool was clean (needs a lock on the pool door though). Bathroom and suite were clean. Bathroom had a jacuzzi. Breakfast was varied: two kinds of eggs, waffles, cereals, muffins, apples, three juices, yogurt. ( Never seen grape juice in a motel breakfast before.)
Not thrilled with the bar, since we were traveling with family, but if you like the bar scene it's open 5-10 PM.
During the 4 days visit at the Quality Inn Aiken the mattress was flipped and air filters were cleaned by the onsite service team, there were numerous upgrades going on to the hotel. Nice to see pride of ownership. I also visited the lounge area which has a touch tunes wifi jukebox, great bartenders, nice restrooms, large TVs and location is near the pool! Breakfast was also well executed by the staff.
The Quality Inn & Suites of Aiken was a pleasant surprise. I was in Aiken SC doing storm cleanup and needed a place for me and my crew to stay. Nash, the Manager, made it happen for us!! He was very accommodating, helpful and friendly. The rooms were all recently renovated and the Jacuzzi tub in my room was a Bonus for sure. The lobby was great, even had a bar and pool table, which was great for my crew in the evenings. Also, the bar was opened up to the outside pool. Very cool.
I would definitely recommend staying at this hotel.
