Found me a gem. Customer service, from door entrance, to lobby, and to your room, excellent. Location is just around Mall of Asia. Very convenient. Suggestion: include breakfast with room rates.
My other favorite hotel (mile and a half away, M M) has one of the best breakfast served offered with the room.
I will consider coming back to Microtel.
Thanks.

Coming back from Vietnam, we decided to try staying at Microtel Inn & Suites by Wynham in the Mall of Asia . Its impactful name made us decide to book for a 2 night stay.
Our first impression was it was a quiant hotel. The front grill fence was low. At the check in counter we were required to deposit cash amount of 2,000 pesos even thought we presented our prepaid voucher for two nights. We had reserved for a room for 3 adults but our companion decided to stay with us because of unexpected heavy rain . We asked and paid for another extra accommodation. The room was small for 4 beds but it had a good window view of the sea and ferris wheel at the left and the new Conrad Hotel across the street below. I found it queer for a hotel to see a water dispenser at the entrance of the elevator. It catered to the all the guests in a given floor of the hotel. (I presumed every floor had one). I am not in agreement to this arrangement for fear some problem guests might add something to the water in the dispenser to the detriment of other hotel guests. The bathroom looked like one from a dormitory back in college days. The toilet tank had a piece of wood over it.
At breakfast, the preparation spread out to the narrow lobby because the dining room was itself small and could seat only a few guests. The food was the usual Filipino menu. The staff were polite and service was quick.
One good thing: the Inn is a short distance from the many stores in Mall of Asia and is located along the many big buffet restaurants at the seaside.

Dear Guest,
Thank you for your comment.
We are glad that you appreciated the service of our people and what the location of the hotel has to offer. On another note; it is unfortunate that you had such impression towards our hotel, though we strive to exceed guest expectations it clearly shows that we did not meet your standard.
Let me also take this opportunity to inform you that Microtel by Wyndham pioneered the no-frills hotel concept in the Philippines. Its approach is back-to-basics and focuses on providing consistently clean, comfortable, and secure accommodations in all our properties.
With regard to the water dispensers, guests can be assured that it is regularly checked by the house keeping supervisors, and also, when our guests feel uncomfortable with their chosen room we offer the suite or premium with additional amenities such as bottled water and coffee and tea making facilities.
We look forward to see you again in the future.

Stayed for a night before flying to Tagbilaran and it was good. We didn't get the chance to have dinner at the roof top like planned because they only serve food till 8pm and we got there at 8, so we just go out and settle for Guiligans. Staff are good, we have to leave at 5am for our early flight and breakfast is only ready from 6am, but the guy from the reception packed us a sandwich and coffee to take, which I think is pretty good. That is how you look after guest. I just hope they will put some coffee and kettle as standard in any room, love having coffee when i get up in the morning and that is the only thing missing in the room.

Checked in this hotel twice already due to our company event at the SMX Convention Center. It is very very close to the SMX and is very convenient. Added plus is that it is near the mall, by walking or by their provided shuttle. The staff are very responsive and accommodating. Special thanks to our corporate sales executive who assisted in making our stay convinient. Room is huge by the way. We booked 8 rooms in total in this hotel.

We stayed for 2 nights for the 2011 New Year's Eve celebrations, because we wanted to be able to see the fireworks at MOA from the hotel and also hear mass at the nearby cathedral. We were put in a room facing MOA, which was indeed breathtaking. The hotel is only a block away from MOA so it was quite convenient for us to get to and return from the mall. The room itself was very basic. Twin beds were larger than usual, which is good. Bathroom has a shower, no tub. Towels are a bit smaller than standard. Sadly, these are the only good things that I can say about the hotel. First, it seems like the staff do not know the hotel's rules and they are not communicating with each other. We were informed by a hotel staff via phone call, a day before we were supposed to check in, that we will not be given a sunset view room, which we specifically asked when we booked online in January 2011. When we verified this with with person who confirmed our online booking, we were informed that we DID have a sunset view room. So it was confusing. After checking in, we were escorted to our room on the 5/f only to find the ROOM WAS ALREADY OCCUPIED. We had to go back to the reception to clarify situation. We were eventually given a room on the 10/f, but what was frustrating was the wait, and the fact that the personnel at the reception did not have any idea on whether their rooms were already occupied or not!! Second, wifi access is free in the lobby but you have to pay for it if you want to have access in your room. Again, there was confusion as to the validity period of the wifi access. we chose the unlimited access for 24 hours because it costs 1,200 pesos compared to 100 pesos if you buy access per hour. We verified several times if the 24 hours is according to actual hours used or 24 hours validity only. We were repeatedly advised by the reception that it was according to actual hours used. However, 24 hours after we first logged in, we found that access had already expired. We bought 2 wifi access cards, and when I complained about it, the staff had the temerity to ask if I got the name of the person who gave me the incorrect advice about the validity, when clearly the issue was ALL STAFF AT THE RECEPTION SHOULD KNOW THEIR OWN RULES. They eventually replaces only ONE of the two cards for free, but I still thought it was not a fair deal. Third strike: we specifically requested for a late check-out (2 pm instead of 12nn) when we were checking in, and were assured that it was okay. However, on the day of our check out, someone from the reception called us at 11:30 to remind us that check out was at 12nn and it was not possible to check out later than that because another client was going to occupy the room. Only after we insisted very strongly about our late check out request did they finally leave us alone. Finally, if you really want to stay in this hotel because of the location and view, that's fine. But if you had another choice, I suggest you stay at another hotel.

Thank you for posting a detailed account of your experience during your recent stay with us. We are deeply concerned to hear about the sub-standard service your received from our front desk. The matter has been discussed at length with the department head concerned and for her to find out any lapse in our service from reservations until your check out. Be assured that corrective actions have been taken to avoid a recurrence of the same incident. We sincerely regret any inconvenience this may have caused you. In the meantime, we hope to be given another opportunity to be of service to you and regain your confidence in us.
