Let me say at the very beginning that if you have to stay in this part of Batangas, this is the best option that is available in the area. Writing this review so that readers get their expectations right..
1. The hotel has a beautiful drive-way which has got a kind of old world charm. The hotel entrance is quite picturesque..
2. However if you reach the hotel after a long drive from wherever you have come, DO NOT expect to be able to immediately check in to your room.. Irrespective of how many days in advance you have made the hotel reservation, more often than not, you would have to wait at the hotel reception till the hotel staff finish cleaning your room to make it ready for occupation..So you could spend those 30 mins admiring the beautiful drive-way and sinking into the really comfortable couches ( no pun intended here, these sofas are really comfortable) in the hotel lobby..
3. When you check in, make sure to ask for rooms in the new building. The rooms are bigger, and the plumbing is marginally better and the rooms have 2 Balconies, which is really a plus.. Although, these rooms do not have the intercom facility and you would need to use Watsapp or Viber to communicate with the hotel staff this is still the better option even though the WiFi drops pretty frequently..
4. Do not expect good house-keeping. And make sure you carry your own toiletries..The ones provided at the hotel could be used to do laundry and not much else..
5. The early mornings are beautiful here. You wake up to the chirping of the birds.. The hotel also has a beautiful mango orchard behind the gym where you should take a stroll if it is still not cordoned off..
6. The Breakfast spread is a joke. You have watered down juice and stale fruits as a staple. The live egg counter is operational only if the chef is around which is not very often..
7. The Hotel has two big swimming pools..
To summarize, the place has it's pluses and minuses . So I would suggest that you set your expectations right, if you want to make the most of the experience..

Stayed in this hotel multiple times on corporate arrangement.

PROs

Beautiful lobby
Excellent service from lobby guards, pool staff and ladies from the breakfast place.
lovely pool area
Close to a shopping mall.
spacious rooms
comfy beds

CONs
They charge for everything, literally. from slippers, tea, water beyond the complimentary etc.
I called the front desk to "borrow" a flat iron for my clothes. They gave it to me but they said they need to take it once im done because other customers need it.
I am staying on corporate rate and I think the rate is too expensive for this type of hotel. I am staying in a suite but it doesn't feel like it
Cleanliness of the toilet is a problem. The toilet and bathtub is not well maintained.
Front desk staff needs more training. They have a standard script for bill pay/corporate customers and personal/walk in customers.

Overall i don't like this hotel but sadly, this is the best place to stay in Batangas City. Everything else is outdated, grimy and dirty.

Just a month ago, we had a vacation in Pontefino Hotel at Batangas City. For me this is the perfect place to relax, and it indeed unwinds me from all the hectic schedules and quotas of my job. I stayed there for about 3days, but I must say that my stays in Pontefino hotel were truly unforgettable.

Pontefino Hotel has a great place to stay for a vacation trip. The staff made a very warm welcome, then the ambiance was simply fabulous. I check-In and took the Premium Room. The room service is also very accommodating and they serve very fast and efficient. The room was excellent, furnished with two single beds and a sofa bed. The room amenities are one things that I enjoyed most it has the Mini Bar, Broadband Internet Connection, Cable TV Programming, Living Area, Pantry Area and the most beneficial for me the coffee/tea making facilities.

I enjoyed the used of their facilities too. I worked out with their fitness center. I was amazed that they have a fully equipped equipment with generous workout space. Not only that, they also have a 25-meter swimming pool which I enjoyed also my nephews said they love swimming into the children s wadding pool.

After so much fun with their facilities and amenities I took a massage service, their staffs was every friendly with fine Filipino hospitality. I received not just what I wanted, but they gave the best I could be possibly has and enjoyed. The Hotel's Robusta Cafe was spectacular. It made our dining experience worth it and very relaxed while we're enjoying the food and especially the meriendas together with coffee, even the afternoon tea breaks.

My family says they enjoyed our short vacation here, either me. The only thing lingers in my minds while staying, is the pleasure and the spirit of harmony, which encapsulated in the hotel. As a guest I found satisfaction.

I booked into this hotel last minute on a business / leisure purpose with my family. Upon arrival, you'll instantly recognize the homey feel of the hotel. The staff, waiter and security personnel are all super helpful and friendly.

Some food selection is a bit expensive compared to other 4-Star hotels in the Philippines including Holiday Inn. The food tasted good but not amazing. The included free breakfast is so so but the very accommodating waitresses makes up for it.

My son and I were excited to go for a swim at the pool but they are renovating it when we visited.

The deluxe room is HUGE! It could easily be classified as a presidential suite. Its that huge. My family and I slept well in their comfy bed.

The place is 5 minute drive from SM Mall.

Very highly recommended.

I loved my stay in this hotel, hence why my overall rating was high yet all individual item ratings are low. The first room they had me in stunk of cigarettes on the ground floor so u asked to be upgraded which they were kind enough to do, for a small price increase, but it was worth it. The entrance is lovely, very provincial and colourful town houses at the front leading to a sweeping driveway up to the front door. Hotel layout is good, pool is lovely. The night I stayed, there was a surprise fireworks show which added to the feeling of being in a castle from Cinderella. Internal quality of the hotel is ok, but for a regional hotel, I fell in love with this place. My hotel room for the price paid was terrible!
food was ok, I had a pesto pasta which was tasty but nothing special. Staff were friendly too. Very helpful and friendly.
You have little choice in Batangas and although this was average .... Really .... You have to look past it, appreciate it for what it is and you too will love the experience.
