I stayed at hotel banu 'luxury' in Marmaris on the 8th September for one week relaxing holiday with my partner. After spending hours ready reviews of nice hotels, all inclusive, clean and within our budget we settled happily on this option as I hadn't read anything that wasn't remotely positive. However from the get go we sharp realised we were the only English in the hotel and were not treated very nicely or catered too as much as all the other cultures among us. We paid for all inclusive to save us on spending too much eating out yet were left no choice than to eat out everyday as the only food options were fruit and cold meats at every mealtime m. Not a single English dish even at breakfast. We would come down to the pool and say good morning to people as they passed yet we only ever got scowles in return asif we wernt welcome and made to feel it was wrong of us to sunbathe like everyone else was. We were placed in a room that was only cleaned twice in the week we stayed, with mattresses thiner than a sheet. We were so uncomfortable having just one pillow to sleep with each so we asked if we could maybe just have 2 more, to which we were refused although we witnessed other couples get them no problem. We soon gathered it was a very anti English hotel and I wish I had found more information before booking this trip that explained this as I feel we paid just as much if not more to holiday here especially. I wish I had gone self catering as we had to spend such a lot of our holiday spends purely on foods. The hotel itself appears clean and small with no lifts just stairs so not ideal for everyone but I definatley don't believe it is a 4star it's more a 3 star with room for improvement. Me and my partner will come back to marmaris but in future pay the extra to be in a proper all inclusive beautiful hotel. One that is located nearer to a British friendly part of town.
Great week, horrible hotel, really early flight times & allocated a different plane to what was booked. Be wary when booking on On the beach as we were down to fly with tui yet on both journeys we had to fly on freebird(Turkish small airline) Very cramped with no legroom and poor English speaking crew. We lost a days holiday to the flight times, along with a long transfer in between.
But life is what you make it and we were determined to enjoy our holiday.
Hope this helps someone
