The front desk was very helpful with phone calls and a late check out. The suite with the loud noises was 304. Cheers
I wrote up previously how the pool was neglected, the breakfast sub par and the nicest suite noisy! But pretty quiet from roosters and Mosque loudspeakers.

Big, spacious rooms. Actually with large windows, open views and a plenty natural light - a rarity in city center areas in Indonesia for this rate (250k-300k). Friendly and beautiful girl at reception. Make sure you ask for a room in the new wing. A spitting distance from Losari Beach.

Actually the room big and comfortable enough, staffs also nice and the location inside the alley but not far for walking to Losari Beach. Bathtub was old and the building too. The elevator also seemed old and little bit scaring to get in. I think better go to to another one in the area with similar price.

Grand Wisata is a business oriented hotel with two buildings (old one + new one in the perpendicular street) .
The rooms in the NEW BUILDING are probably one of the best option in Makassar (where hotels are crappy/poor value and always fully booked). AVOID THE OLD BUILDING where the rooms are crappy.
Ok, this hotel is far from perfection but the rooms are big enough, comfortable (AC,wifi and TV) and relatively clean (no carpet but floor tiles). The 4-5 first floors do not have any view except on the opposite wall. The bathroom is ok (clean, shower curtain, hot water).
Smell of cigarette in the corridors (but not in the room).
The staff is friendly and helpful (possible to get a discount: Rp 375,000 per night). Be aware that it is really difficult to contact them by phone and there is no email address (thus try your luck!)
The indonesian breakfast is really not amazing.
Not sure this hotel will be properly maintained in the future (which is unfortunately the main problem of the Indonesian hotels) but at least for the time being it is a good value (particulary with regards to the other hotels in Makassar)!
