We stayed at Devigiri homestay for 2 days and we had wonderful time. The hospitality, food and the place is excellent. The room was well maintained and estate is wonderful to spend some time in early morning. The owner and manager are so humble that they took care of us at every step. The places like mullayanagiri and Baba Budan Giri are near to this place and they do suggested some places to visit and short cuts to reach them. They took care of our 2 year kid with all his food need. I thank to Owner and Manager Madan for making it a memorable trip.

After seeing the reviews of this homestay we booked a cottage for 5 people. We called up the caretaker to book a room. He shared pics of a 2 room cottage for 5 people and being satisfied with the pics we booked the cottage. Only after reaching there we realized the pictures are completely misleading. We reached the homestay by 11.45 AM and were kept waiting till 12.30 despite there was no other check-in or checkout happening. After waiting for 45 mins we were give a single room for 5 people and we got a plain SORRY from Mr. Madan - the caretaker - saying he has already given our cottage to some other family. We were frustrated after hearing this as we had paid for 2 rooms and we had to adjust in a single room. The care taker was very unapologetic about it. When we moved into the room, the basic amenities were not available. We had to ask him multiple times for every single thing from soap, tissue rolls, and water to blankets. We called him up politely 6 times asking to provide blankets and tissue roll, every time he would say I will provide it in 2 mins. Only after yelling at him the 7th time, he provided what was required. We got the blankets only after 4 hours of our arrival. The service provided by him was very very bad. The extra bed that they provided was like a stretcher which was very uncomfortable and unsafe to sleep and one of our friend had to sleep on a sofa. The geyser in the bathroom was not connected to the tap and the hot water was flowing from a nozzle that was hanging from the geyser. They promised us veg and non veg food for lunch, whereas in lunch they provided only veg. The pulav rice hat they served was very oily and rest of things were also not good and not upto the mark as they promise. When we asked what would be there for dinner, Mr. Madan explained a long list of items. When we arrived for dinner to our disappointment we could see very limited items. There was no starter in their menu as well. We had ordered Chicken Kebab separately, which was a little OK. In the name of snacks in the evening they gave us a 5 rupee Happy biscuit with pathetic coffee. We were so fed up of the food provided that we left early morning the next day without having breakfast. The window in the bathroom was not completely closed and anyone could peep inside the bathroom from outside the cottage and insects and mosquitoes were coming in from there. There were small cockroaches in the cupboard due to which we were unable to use the cupboards. They say they provide all the amenities like AC, etc. When we checked if the AC is working, to our amusement we found the wire was hidden behind the curtains and was disconnected and had no plug so that no one can use it. They had only 5 to 6 songs and they were playing it on a repeat mode in the name of DJ. There are no activities available inside the homestay. The picture of the lake on their website is totally fake. In the name of lake it is a very small man-made pond. We were not even taken for the walk along the estate to explain about the coffee plantation as mentioned on their website. To make things worse there was even power cut early morning when we had to leave and there was no power backup and we had to pack things up in mobile flashlight.
Overall, the location of the homestay is good, apart from this everything else was pathetic and terrible. When we asked him to let us speak to the owners, we were not allowed to do so. The care taker has recently changed for this homestay. Maybe the previous guy was good, but the service provided by Mr. Madan was pathetic and he was ignorant towards the needs of the guests. I would not suggest this place to anyone as it is a complete waste of money.

We as a family and friends stayed at Devigiri in the third week of May 18. The place is 12 Km away from the city and is cool and peaceful. We had booked 2 cottages, they were spacious and each has 2 attached washrooms. One cottage can easily accommodate a family of 5, the cottages are clean, kept neat and tidy and amidst the trees and coffee plantation. Other options available there for stay are bamboo cottages, bungalow room, a tree house and Tent, but we preferred cottages. The food (We tried veg) was tasty and the cook deserves a compliment. Owner stays in the property itself, hence is very cautious about everything and is caring too. Major sightseeing places are within 50 km range.

Awesome place with a wonderful view of Mulayamgiri Hills. Food and hospitality is really appreciating. i had a big 10 peoples group with me and happy to say that they helped us with all the facilities from worm food to clean bathroom and quick room services.

another good part of this stay is, it is not so far from Mulayamgiri peak .
