Located in the heart of the old center of Santa Marta, in a nice old building with lot of Charme. Nice patio with a small pool, nice terrace with jacuzzi and some more terrace so plenty of lovely places to enjoy the day or the sunset with a drink. The rooms are Not very big so I recommend you book a luxury or suite category. Due to the old building the water pressure is not really good. They provide Occitane products in the bathroom.
Staff is friendly, I would like to mention in particular Nelsy, she is really a great manager and goes out of her way to make her guests happy, nothing is too much asked for her, this is really outstanding. Also to mention Juan, the waiter, always very helpful, attentive, he remembers all your special wishes and is really accommodating. Great job, this is what makes this hotel so special!
They also have a beach club which can be used, very nice a relaxing place with a nice pool and lots of space to enjoy a day at the beach (15 minutes drive by taxi).
Really a nice small hotel with great staff, I will definitely go back if I am in the area again. It is not the most luxury place but one needs to consider it is Santa Marta and not NYC!
Great, historic location, fantastic service, good food, really some of the best hospitality in Colombia and they've even got the bicycle from the video to the Carlos Vives/Shakira song "La Bicicleta," parked by the pool. Juancho and Nelsy will take care of you. If you want great atmosphere in Santa Marta, this is your place!
Wonderful historic boutique hotel in every single detail. We (myself, wife and teenager daughter) stayed here for one night after a couple days in Tayrona Ecohabs (see other evaluation). We are glad we picked Dom Pepe: spacious room with unbelievably high ceiling at the second floor (room #9), very good food (both breakfast and lunch), friendly staff always smiling and glad to help you (I am fluent in Spanish so didn’t check their fluency in English), nice terrace to watch sunset and antiques everywhere. We were allowed to late check out and relaxed by the pool till our time to departure to the airport. Santa Marta historic center is not “wow”, no way to compare to Cartagena, but it is worthwhile to stop by on your way back home from Tayrona. If you decide to do so, definitely Dom Pepe is the right place to stay. We loved it!
We did stay at the Don Pepe boutique hotel and we had a very nice experience. The staff is very dedicated, the swimming pool is small but very practical after a day of diving. Santa Marta is a nice town with a nice restaurant.
The rooms are really comfortable with everything you need. The courtyard with the swimming pool is a romantic place and the dining room is a nice place to relax and enjoy your meal. Massages are nice as well. I would definitely go back.
