We arrived on an early morning flight (was 0730 but the actual arrival was delayed until 0930). I had emailed the hotel prior to ensure we could check in early as we only had 24 hours in Dubai.
Upon arrival at the hotel, our room was not yet ready, but the front office manager (the very efficient Mr Ginu) was doing all he could to ensure it was ready as soon as possible. We were asked n less than four times to confirm that we did indeed understand that the room had only one double bed (we are a same sex male couple), but our preferred sleeping arrangements cause no further issues.
We asked if we could go to the roof pool while we waited and access was granted which was very welcome. The pool itself is not very deep, but refreshing enough after a 20 hour journey from New Zealand!
The pool attendant was called and let us know our room was available. The room itself was nicely presented, with all amenities and a very comfortable bed (just the one, mind!)
I booked this hotel to its proximity to the Burjaman Metro station, which is well within walking distance. We took the metro both from and to the airport which saves a significant amount of money (it was only UAE Dhs 7 per person each way I think).
The hotel can arrange a transfer if you'd prefer.
The area of Bur Dubai (an older part of town) had a lot of 'local colour' and makes for a much more 'genuine' experience of Dubai than the newer more sterile parts.
I would recommend this hotel for business travelers and those on a short transit stay who would like to experience a bit of 'real' Dubai. It's closeness to the metro is a huge benefit and the standard of the hotel is just as good as other more expensive properties in the area.
