I stayed one night at Royal Mingalar Hotel. It is located near Mingalar Mandalay, the biggest shopping centre in Mandalay and Pullman Hotel. The room is nice and include baloney. The view from the room is also nice, I got swimming pool view. The dinning area is also nice. You can breakfast beside the pool. It's so great. The staff are warmly welcome. My training was held at that hotel. Love this🥰
There are so many things wrong with this property I don’t know where to begin. Firstly it doesn’t even know whether it’s called Royal Mingalar or Noble Mingalar. A simple check online would show that the 2 names appear to be interchangeably used.
The carpet at reception is worn and tired and the mustard colour has turned a curious shade of black from plain want of cleaning.
The room is large enough but, somehow, the hotel does not provide king sized beds and I had to stay in a room with 2 single beds even though it was a single room. I was here with colleagues who each had single rooms also. There are flying bugs in every room we were in and the lighting was inadequate in all. My pillow cases were dirty and yellow but housekeeping was quite prompt when asked to replace them.
My main gripe however is with the choice of anti slip rubber mats used throughout the bathroom. It’s painful to walk or stand on and I’ve never been to any other hotel which had made such a curious choice. I understand that accidents from slipping in the bathroom could be a real problem. However the remedy surely need not be so drastic. I’d taken to laying towels on the floor to ease the pain.
The staff try to do their best and I’m quite impressed with Myanmar’s standard of hospitality. However a lot more training and perhaps extensive renovations would be helpful.
Stayed in this hotel for 3 nights. Staff totally untrained, but very willing. Always smiling!
Got food poisoning in the "dining room". No apology, as most of us in our little group had tummy trouble. Lots of noise from a karaoke evening near the swimming pool. The only good thing was, that there was a modern supermarket next to the hotel, where we bought plain food for our upset tummies.
Wifi was non excistent while we stayed for 3 nights,
We stayed for 1 night at this new hotel. Our room was spacious and clean and beds were comfortable. Bathroom was simple and clean. Staffs were friendly.
1. It takes about 40 min driving from Mandalay airport.
2. Take print copy of your reservation, they could not find our booking in their computer system but fortunately we had our reservation print-out.
3. We booked for suite room, but found out at check-in it only had one bed. We asked for two beds, but did not get a suite room, only the regular two beds room. So if you need two beds suite room, check with them first.
4. There is football stadium and super center nearby
Seems a nice and fairly new hotel - but not within walking distance of any real attractions/downtown etc (so it is not really good for tourists but more for business travelers). However, it is close to a golf driving range, a large shopping complex (shops, food stalls, cinema, etc) and just across the road is the Emperor III restaurant (good cheap local food). Rooms are fairly large and have quite a large but awkwardly designed bathroom (eg - no hooks to hang clothes on and no shelves to put toiletries on). Room lights also seem a bit inadequate. It has a nice outdoor pool and the staff I interacted with were faultless. Visited as part of a tour group.
