We stayed at the hotel twice, on both ends of our trip to the Sacred Valley. Our first room was an interior one opening to the light court - just ok, lots of noise from the lobby. The second room opening to the outside with views of the city and mountains was nicer. Staff was not especially friendly. Breakfast was good and included coca tea to help with the altitude. The location just 2 blocks from the plaza is great, and some of the best restaurants are even closer

I was relocated here as the hotel I had booked was being renovated (I didn't find out this information until I arrived with my suitcase from the airport!). The first room they offered me was dreadful - dark and dingy with no window, but when I asked for a room with a balcony (as I'd booked at the other hotel) they immediately showed me to a better room which had a window and balcony. Having said that, the room was still quite small, tired and a bit dark. It was also not well sound-proofed and there was constant traffic noise throughout the night and early morning, and was rather cold - though an electric heater was supplied.
Staff here are very pleasant and helpful, but the breakfast was not good at all and most days I went elsewhere for my breakfast.

Hotel Ruinas is super great. PERFECT location, 2 blocks walking to Plaza de Armas, wonderfully friendly staff, hotel shuttle. Called taxi for me to/from train station twice. Everyone I encountered was so sweet and helpful and pleasant! I had to email with some questions prior to my trip and Larissa was extremely polite and very helpful. I got to meet her when I arrived! My bed was "to die for" comfortable, the room was very pleasant, and clean. The bathroom was great, water pressure and temp were fine. Hair dryer was good for my hair. I made use of the computer in the lobby area, and when I needed a little help with Spanish website, they were there to assist! They kindly held my luggage after checkout until I needed to go to the airport. I had a room at the rear, but I don't know if others' comments about early risers making noise in the lobby is a problem, because it didn't happen while I was there. I highly recommend this very convenient and lovely hotel!

My husband and I stayed at Hotel Ruinas before and after our Macchu Piccu trek (they happily stored our luggage for us while we were away). We found Hotel Ruinas to be great. It was in a very handy location, close to the main square, the staff were lovely, and our room was comfortable and clean. We requested a room at the back of the hotel as was suggested on this site, and it was really good. We really found the staff to be very friendly and helpful - they answered any questions we had and helped us any way they could. The care that they take of the hotel is to be commended as well. A very welcoming little place.

The room was so comfy and cute, loved the skylights onto the city! Breakfast was delicious. The front desk staff was so helpful assisting us with laundry services we needed post Inca Trail! Very centrally located. Would definitely recommend :)
