The service and staff at the Cruz Loma Hotel were the most hospitable and accommodating we have ever experienced. From the Warm smile on arrival to the accommodating a bigger room and additional pillows, the staff’s service both night and day were exemplary. The excellent food at very reasonable prices at the restaurant beside was an added bonus! The kind send off we received as we caught a last minute flight out Quito during the Coronavirus highlighted the caring approach the staff constantly displayed. We will be back to take in all of our Ecuador adventure that was cut short, and we will definitely be booking with the Cruz Loma Hotel on our return.
I stayed here for 2 overnights on the same trip. It is a small hotel with no elevator. First stay was on the 3rd floor - made me think twice about running back to the room for something. The rooms were clean and beds were good. The best part were the staff. Extremely friendly, helpful and accommodating. Breakfast was included and was very good. Good location made it easy to get around the city.
Adequate hotel with a nice touch for our room with petals, Prosecco and chocolates. Also let us leave a suitcase when we had a stay somewhere else for a few days.
Good points - nice size rooms, clean, friendly reception, WiFi, shop few shops down.
Bad points - showers had no control and were scorching, cold room, front rooms are really noisy from traffic, hairdryer fell off the wall into the toilet when not in use.
Stayed here 3 times as part of a G Adventures tour. First time had a large room in annex. Big room and bathroom but noisy air con disturbed sleep. 2nd time top floor. Tiny room. 3rd time First floor, ok room. Nice breakfast. Nice sun terrace. Tea or coffee in reception area a nice welcome touch.
I arrived early in the morning on an international flight and was still allowed into my room right away. The desk staff was very friendly, helpful and spoke excellent English. Breakfast in the attached restaurant was tasty and cost only $3. The rooms were spotlessly clean, very reasonably priced, and have wi-fi, television, and a safe. The building is older and has no elevator, and at night there was some noise from hall/staircase and the street, but that just comes with the territory in an older building in the city. The neighborhood is safe and walkable, with restaurants, a grocery store, and small markets for water/snacks very nearby.
