as the thought of being El Nido for the first time makes me forget how the accommodation would look like. not that I'm saying that it's not nice, as a matter of fact, it is. it adds to the rustic and quiet place of El Nido. It is in the beach front and we were given one nipa hut, fan room. everything was just bamboo, from the bed, (with mattress of course) floor, ceiling, doors, bathroom. it was a laid back house. but it was good. opening the main door leads you to the beach which is very accessible. it is also near food shacks and the main road. nice stay. just dont expect hot and cold, or bidet, or cable tv, or wifi. if the aforementioned are your requirements, just go to a hotel in manila and save the 6-hour trip from puerto princesa.

have fun!

The staff was quite helpful when I made my reservations. They did not asked for a deposit and even reminded me about it a week before our arrival.

I love the place. It felt quite homey. The guests are always outside enjoying the hammocks and the chairs by the beach. It is very close to the beach and the town which is good in case you need something.

The room is clean and they provide towels. Sometimes I feel like the water was about to go out during the shower but there is a pail and dipper provided in case you decide not to use the shower anymore.

I had an issue with the way they did my laundry. it had a dump funny smell. It turned out that when the afternoon drizzle came they transferred my laundry indoors inside a cabinet although they claimed that they kept the door open. Some of them I was able to use while some had to be washed again. Hopefully they learned from that mistake.

me and 2 of my friends were suppose to stay for 3 nights but we missed our flight.we had to scramble for another ride the next day.i was very happy that marina garden adjusted our reservations WITH OUT adding the missed first night to our over all payment.we were expecting they would still charge us for it,and they had every right to do so, but they didn't.PLUS PLUS points for them!!we originally wanted to stay at one of the jessica cottages but it was under construction at that time so we stayed at the town-side rooms.very clean though basic & it wasn't even that noisy even though the room faced the road.the comfort room was just enough.aside from the AC unit, the room had a ceiling fan & an additional fan.the AC worked fine though electricity is only from 2pm to 6am.breakfast was OK but could be better.we had our island hopping customized to the places we specifically wanted to go to,with just the 3 of us, and it exceeded our expectations.from the places we went, to our guides Manong Jesse and JB.they were patient and helpful & the lunch they provided was delicious!they were ready to help right away without being intrusive.we scheduled to start @ 8am & they were happy to oblige, they came & picked us up on time.
the place itself was nice.lots of plastic lounge chairs & several hammocks facing the sea if you want to relax.
the downside was that the front desk personnel needed to smile & be cheerful a bit more.plus there was a confusion with the arrangements going back to Puerto.Marina garden offered to book us ahead for the 10am shuttle going to Puerto but the shuttle service didn't have our names.in the end we took the 1pm sched.they need to provide small lamps per room too.since the power down is regular,it gets dark especially in the CR.also the first night, the door of our CR suddenly became locked.i have a vague recollection of the security guard coming into our room around 4am to 5am to try to open it.what was that?

We arrived late at night and was accommodated immediately. The room was clean and we just love the beach front location. Not only that, it is close to all other things that you need while in El Nido - like where to dine, island hopping, pasalubong, Police Station and a church. We recommend this place to all other and will definitely stay in this resort again on our next visit to El Nido.

The room was quite small, and the color was a bit tacky. The bed looks clean but when we laid down on it it had bits of sand here and there. They have cable, but almost non-existent wifi. We could only use wifi at 3am when everyone was asleep. Their breakfast was good. After breakfast, though, they only serve burgers.

We're not happy with the staff for the following reasons:
1. They informed us that someone from the restaurant (let's just call it that, but it's really just a hut) will go to us the night before to get our orders for breakfast the next day. From day 1 to 3, no one did. We told about it on the last day but no one still came.
2. We had to do early checkout (like 4:30am) for the van to Puerto Princesa. Though we informed them of this the night before, having our paid breakfast packed already, the morning of our departure, there was NO ONE to in the reception and no packed breakfast. Fortunately for them we paid the night before so we just went out.
3. Their security guard was new, and so whenever we asked help from him (ex. help us hail a tricycle), he just said he was new.
*Though to be fair other than these, they were nice and easy to talk to. It's just that there's a lack of coordination among them.

However, despite all these, they have GREAT location. There was a storm that cancelled 2 days of tours. Since Marygold is a beachfront inn, you can go straight to the beach from your room. You can also eat in other restaurants nearby along the beach. They have VERY GOOD location. They're quite fortunate in that aspect.

hello Ms Haydee, you can search marygold beach front inn in their website, i hope they are available.... and the room rates is only 2,400 per night depending on season. sometimes their rates reach to 2,900 per night, but you have a free breakfast but if you dont like to avail the breakfast maybe they will deduct it to the cost of their rooms.
