We stayed at kame house for over a week and enjoyed every day of it, the staff are very friendly and always happy to help, the owners are a great bunch of people very friendly and always willing to give good advice on what to do during your stay as there are loads of tours and choosing which ones can be tough. The guys behind the bar are always willing to help and are always there to serve you, ALL the staff is very polite and friendly. very clean rooms with good air conditioning so you won’t have a problem with hot sweaty and sweaty dorms. They have a tv and Xbox in the common room for those lazy days when you just wanna chill and loads of board games. The hostel itself is walking distance from a few takeaway places and some good bars for late night partying, I definitely recommend spending your stay in El Nido at this hostel as we always felt welcome the entire time and I believe it is definitely one of the best hostels you can stay at here, we will definitely be coming back to stay here for our next trip to El Nido
This Hostel has serious staffing issues and a ridiculous alphabetical bed allocation system. So if you book with 2+ people no guarantees you are in the same room!!!! how stupid! this resulted in 2 young girls being thrown out early evening (after traveling all day with heavy backpacks) out as they refused to sleep separately in a foreign country with other strangers! Nothing more scary than getting a call from your sobbing child thousands of miles away :( I mean this hotel has no thought for safety of its guests. Staff were super rude would not listen or accommodate the girls concerns. This hostel may be clean and tidy but safety should be more important! the ridiculous alphabet checking in system and the Staff definitely need addressing and updating!!!! I would NOT recommend staying there or sending your young backpackers there! Disgusted is an understatement!!!
We stayed here as a couple and had a private room...
Pros: This hostel is very clean and modern. It's a great location and the staff are extremely helpful and friendly.
Cons: air con is controlled centrally so you cant adjust your own, there's no hot water in the bathrooms, the breakfast is very average (they just give you eggs (which you cook yourself), bread and fruit and I feel they could do a lot more to create a better social atmosphere for guests to meet each other - maybe nightly events or just scheduled times to be in the social areas to meet other travellers. There was also terrible wifi in the rooms and it was actually pretty expensive compared to a lot of other places.
In summary for the extra cost I'd expect all of the cons to be improved as otherwise I don't see the reason in paying more, however it is a nice hostel with nice staff hence the 4 star review.
I stayed here the first few nights they opened, so I was expecting a few hiccups as to be expected. However this wasn't the case. Everything was PERFECT the room was comfortable and clean, the facilities beat most hostels I've stayed in ( pool, bar, widescreen tv, Xbox and kitchen to mention a few). But the attentiveness of the staff is what stands out: the staff will do anything possible to help you and also the owners of the hostel are there most of the time help in you and giving you local advice which is what you want when you're in a foreign country.
Thank you to everyone
For sure I will be back
Great accomodation services! The room and toilet was well maintained. Staff were awesome too, gave us great tips regarding the area! Told us places where regular tourist miss to visit when they go on holiday. Keep it up guys!
