It was very easy to find the place to be honest, it's very near the mrt but to get into the guest house was very difficult. The area was super crowded, the Indian markets was super lively. People keep trying to sell us so many stuffs when we were just trying to get into our guest house and dropped our heavy bags. There are 2 lifts to get into odd and even numbers and the queue was very damn long. If it weren't in level 15th, we'd probably have taken stairs.
Once we got into the small lift and checked in we, got moved into another level for our room. It's on the 4th floor. The room was super tiny, the bathroom literally right behind the door, small bed and small table. There are no room for us to open our bags beside under the bed. If you are going to carry big luggage, then don't stay at this place. There is small tv too, a ceiling fan, window (with no view / horrible disgusting view) and aircon (that's making so much noises when you turn it on).
Knowing that we stayed in 4th floor, we tried taking the stairs down. It was dirty but it was still alright. Rather than waiting for the lift to come and pick us up.
The location though, was good and very convenient. Super close to the MTR station, so many restaurants, shopping malls, markets, and street food.
Even though, the room is very small, the guy who cleaned the room was nice. He didn't talk much to us but he always clean the room without we asking for it and always greet us when we get to see each other.
What an experience, but I'm sure I won't come back to this place again.
We booked the room and arrived there late at night due to our flight schedule. We were with 2 people and book a room with shower and double bed. The room was aweful. They put 2 guys in a 3by3 room with no proper AC, no shower and a tiny bed which they called a double bed. We went did not sleep there. We walked out with no backup hotel at 1am in the morning. Not even 1 night we wanted to spend there. I do not understand how this is even allowed as a commercial guesthouse.
Good things : perfect location (near Tsim Sha Tsui subway station, a lot of restaurants, near Clock Tower and pier 1), good AC in the room, comfortable bed, TV, really good WIFI, elevator (even if it's a little bit too long to come), not a lot of noises, and clean room.
Bad things : a little bit hard to find the hotel, the indian market downstairs is kind of creepy (but safe), stairs are really dirty, rooms are too small and no windows (for mine), bed sheet kind of dirty, and the worst is the hotel staff who are incompetent and impolite !!! There is just one woman who are in charge to welcome customers and clean the rooms, and she is really impolite all the time. When I arrived, after struggling to find the place with my luggage, she didn't wanted to understand that i had booked a room on the internet and wanted me to go away. Finally, she called her sister who is in charge of it, and fortunately she explained her that i had really booked a room.
Conclusion : The geographic situation is perfect, and it's really safe. But even if the rooms don't have a good price/quality ratio, i advise travellers to go there in order to enjoy in this marvellous city.
1) The location is good. Get on bus A21 from airport and get down at station No.14 (confirm with driver). Within 5-10 minutes walking distance to Avenue of Stars, Star-Pier, Victoria Harbour and MTR station is just opposite the road.
2) Price is cheap compared with other hotels. But, it is not actually cheap because they really can't give you what other hotels can give.
-1) The environment of the building is really poor. Always too crowded, not enough lift, too many foreigners that make you feel not-secured.
-2) Room is too small that you can only have one bed and a small tiny bathroom inside.
-3) Bedsheets, blanket, toilet are dirty. Not toiletries provided.
-4) Noise insulation is really bad, you can hear what next room is doing.
-5) They try to save cost by switching off your power supply for water heater at their main control. They even do this during the winter.
* They have many guest house in this Chung King Mansion running by the same group of people. They are not reserving your rooms as per your booking itinerary, what they do is wait you to check in and simply give you a room that meet the standard of what you booked. You might get something you never expect to.
