We couldn't think of better hotel than Shammr Hotel & Suites because we know we are going to stay for a long time in Yemen. There were 3 of us travelling to Sana'a and the hotel provided a 2-bedroom + 1 small function room (they call it "majlis") for us.

The rooms are huge, beds are comfortable and they have more than enough pillows for the 3 of us. It has decent sheets and nice furnishing. The kitchenette is basic and a bit run down but if you are not into cooking, they have own restaurant and there are 2 eateries near the area. So food is not a problem.

Our main problem is the service staff, maybe the concept of hospitality is not a major concern for their employees, so there will be times when they can be very rude. However, when we addressed this to the General Manager, she will make sure everything is fine and she is a nice lady to talk to.

The traffic at Hadda street can be quite bad during the nights and weekends, also the hotel rent their hall/room for weddings and we will be expecting lots of noise during Thursday and Friday nights as this is the time when the Yemenis are holding their family members wedding. If your room is facing the main road, do expect sleepless night on your first few days. Nevertheless, you will also be overlooking small opuntia farm opposite the hotel.

I wouldn't say it is the nicest hotel in Sana'a but it meets our minimum expectations.

The hotel interiors bear an elegant look with high quality curtains, decent sheets, tasteful décor, nice furnishings, modern amenities and bright lightings. The staffs were that “ready to help” sort of people. The room was comfortable and clean with a television, a nice bed, a wardrobe, necessary furniture, etc. The bed sheets were good and clean with soft pillows. An A+ rating for the sleep quality. The bathroom had adequate water supply and a good heater. The restaurant here has some choice recipes which one should try. I used the fitness center at this place. It was great.

small room with satellite TV,clothes Wardrobe table, empty mini par "i don't think so you can drink alcoholic but don't worry smoking is allowed"
anyway be sure all light is working also water heater it's very difficult use water without it so try this hotel but don't blame me !!!
