Al Safir & Tower has a good location in Juffair, next to Bennigan's, an Italian restaurant and a 5 minute walk to Fridays and a supermarket. There is the hotel (with renovated rooms and the restaurant) and the tower which is 10 meters away with bigger non renovated rooms, the spa and the pool. Each has a separate check in, both are more like a 3 star than a 4 star hotel lobby.. Upon check in, they either require swiping your credit card or will hold your id in lieu of the credit card. If you choose to use your credit card, a BD20 will be charged and charged back upon departure. However, you might incur a small foreign exchange fee from your credit card. This is a family hotel so there is no alcohol served but you can go to Bennigan's or to the Italian restaurant next door to satisfy your thirst.
The room is big, clean but very dated. There were no instructions on how to use the safe and the first employer wasn't able to explain it. It took 2 people to explain how to use it. The bathroom switch is located in a strange place. The bathroom has a combined shower and bathtub. The towels aren't that big nor fluffy. Wifi is free and reliable.
Breakfast is served in the hotel. The food is average quality with made to order eggs, waffles and pancakes. Variety is not what you would expect from a 4 star hotel. Instant coffee was served.
If you want a clean,centrally located, quiet place to stay then Al Safir Hotel & Towers might be right for you. Don't expect a 4 star hotel -more of a 3 star. Keep your expectations low and you'll enjoy your stay.
