The location of the hotel is BANG ON. Right on Taksim Square, you walk 10 steps and you’re on the always bustling Istikal Street.
The hotel arranged the airport transfer for me and it costed me 70 euros for a private transfer which initially i was super pissed about since the taxis right outside the airport were willing to go to taksim for 35 euros but later it seemed totally worth it when i actually got to know the weird taxi scenario of Istanbul. The taxi drivers are just sitting there to find a stupid tourist who they can loot. They take advantage of the fact that we don’t understand the Turkish language.
Coming to the check in process, it was smooth and the staff at the reception was really nice to me. Taufun, Emre and Umran made the stay comfortable for me. They even gave me complimentary welcome pastries for each room and an extra bed free of cost to cover up for my disappointment regarding the transfer which i really appreciate.
The room was big enough for the price i was paying and had all the facilities.
The hotel had spa facilities which i enjoyed a lot. And the breakfast was delicious. Also the view from their rooftop restaurant is spectacular.
What I didn’t like about the property was that the TV of my room was not stuck properly to its stand and for the two days that i was there, i was scared to death that it’ll fall and break and the staff did nothing about it even when i told them about it. Also, the rooms requires a little renovation.
Overall, my stay was good!
Location wise very convenient to bus stop, train station & shops.
Room quite small, difficult to open up 2 luggage. Room not so soundproof, can hear next door tv on loud. Few Emails sent out to hotel never reply from before check in till reach hometown. Left behind stuff housekeeping reply say nothing found.
We booked to stay for one night having travelled by minibus from Sakarya, further south in Turkey. We finished our journey by taxi and the driver took us to the other CVK hotel overlooking the sea. The doorman gave him directions to our hotel in Taksim Square. The location (if you like Taksim, couldn't be better). We left our 4 cases with the doorman and went upstairs to the reception where we discovered our booking with Apodo had gone horribly wrong and our room had been given to someone else. They only had suites or one tiny room available. The receptionist quoted a price higher than the one detailed on the reception wall. When I pointed out the correct price, it was changed. They let us sit in the comfortable lobby to contact Apodo by email but our email providers didn't recognise our "address" so thought we were being hacked. Tired, in our 60's we took the tiny room, similar size to BLOC at airports, with no view. Well there was a view. See photos! So, all in all, we got over it and were pleased to have somewhere to stay the night before heading for the airport. The room had everything we needed for a good nights sleep, but was overpriced. We found a lovely roof top restaurant nearby and had a pleasant afternoon on a warm October day, before the rain came. In the morning, breakfast wasn't very welcoming. Nobody spoke to us Nobody offered us tea or coffee or explained what we were entitled to. There was a chef area for live cooking but the chef, just stared at it. It was a cold and rainy morning and someone decided to open the remote control windows and it became quite blowy.
Would we stay again? Might like to try their sister hotel. The facilities look good on the website. The guys dealing with our luggage were very efficient and helpful.
I staid 6 days in very nice stuffs and helpful, the room location very nice view to Istiklal, the stuff’s are very helpful specially Mr.mart and tayfon they do all the thing to make the customer very happy, I really like this hotel, my plan is to stay in this hotel again in my next trip.
We reserved a triple room but the room was very small and not even suitable for 2 persons. At first it was an issue to us but we managed to adapt with it because we stayed most of the time out of the hotel.
We tried to change it for a better and bigger option but eventually most of their standards are the same size, and you have to pay more for a little wider one (still small) with different room type.
The room was always clean, we had 2 single beds + small extra bed.
The breakfast was amazing and the staff were very helpful.
